Covers and colours well but with some shortcomings
This varnish is VASTLY better than the water based medium oak varnishes available from a variety of manufacturers. However there are some difficulties.First, the colour on Oak is rather red. The two pictures show an oak veneered table top before and after varnishing. On pine it is more the yellow-green of natural oak. However, the colour is better than several acrylic varnishes I tried, which all tended to come out distinctly green.Second, it takes a very long time to fully cure and the slight stickiness to settle. I needed 4 coats, with a day in-between each, and it is still curing, although can be used.Third, the varnish crystallises if the room and wood temperature is too low. There is no mention of this on the can, and it certainly does not display a "Do not use below" temperature warning, just a recommended range.
