I use these all the time in my tax preparation business. They hold up well.

These are nice plastic folders and worth the money, but unfortunately, they do not fit in a standard filing cabinet. They are just a little too wide, and for that reason, I can only give them four stars.

Folders are exactly what I wanted. It works perfectly for filing my tax returns and other expenses.

Was so upset when I put just a few items in one of the envelopes { not even close to maxing it's limits}, started to wrap the string around lower "button" but it popped out! Not riveted correctly. A fluke right? So very carefully tried a second envelope WITHOUT ANYTHING IN IT & same thing happened!!! Wouldn't even give it 1 star if possible.

These are nice quality poly string envelopes. They expand up to about 1" so they will hold quite a bit. I like to use these kinds of folders to contain things that are small and tend to get lost when they fall out of an open file - things like photos, receipts, social security cards. And for important files that I reach for often and store on my desktop - the mess looks much tidier when it's contained in colorful plastic files. Please note that these folders do not fit in a standard filing cabinet - you'll need a legal size file filing cabinet if you want to file these away. But for general use to protect important documents, or for school work etc., these are great. No complaints about quality, and I love that there's a variety of colors in the pack, and that they are transparent, so I can identify the contents quickly. The only improvement I can think of would be if they came with some kind of labeling system, but I can print my own labels for them easily if I decide I need to.

We travel and prefer to carry some printed materials. Sometimes you just never know if there's data where you're going and that digital page, pass, or map refuse to load on the cell phone. The same goes for hotels, campground, airport, etc. I also keep the receipts in the envelops for a while until they're reconciled. These envelops do hold a lot. I used to get the plastic zipper envelopes or the snap button types. The zipper or snap button types envelopes tends to give way when there's more than a few paper in them. Because the string fasteners are flexible length, they expand with ease. I can put a magazine in it and it still have plenty of room. With a set of 10, we can now keep different envelops for different trips. I took a picture of the zipper envelope which costs a few times more at local store. The zipper ones are thicker yet broke after one trip. These string closed envelopes are thinner but much better value because the design will be much more durable.
