Absolutely ridiculous, but ridiculously good if you have the PC to drive it
For several years I have been using an older Samsung 32" curved superwide screen. It was a whopper of a screen and was fantastic for gaming but also great for work, with loads of real-estate. The only drawback was the 60Hz refresh rate, meaning that you were locked to a maximum 60 frames per second.Having recently upgraded my PC significantly, I was feeling more and more like I wanted to remove this perceived bottleneck and had the opportunity of the Prime sales to bring the price down to a more affordable level, so took the plunge.Even going from one superwide to another, this screen is absolutely huge. It is total excess, but as a gaming experience is absolutely incredible. The screen comes set up to an ideal colour setup, so you shouldn't need to fiddle around with settings too much to get it just to your liking (indeed you needn't fiddle at all).Switching on HDR (done via the PC) rewards you with colours that really pop. The screen does an incredible job with the colours, with really vibrant hues and really black blacks. The curve is really pronounced too. My old 32" curve was quite subtle, not so this one. Thing is, it really works. When you are gaming, it is hugely immersive as the screen curves into your peripheral vision. It was probably less of a leap for me than it may be for people coming from a single normally proportioned screen, but I have had no problems with eye strain or anything else. But how does it perform when gaming, I mean that's why we are all here right? Well it is incredible. Gobsmacking. It definitely needs a lot of graphical horsepower to achieve the best results (that is a LOT of pixels after all), but I would say if you are running a 3080 or higher you will have no problems.F12023 cockpit view is amazing, the vistas in Red Dead Redemption 2 are made so much more huge and expansive with so much real estate. Cyberpunk's Night City is a huge sprawling dystopia. Honestly I can't express strongly enough how much of a step up a monitor like this is. If you are considering a money-no-object RTX4090, drop back a model to the 4080 and buy one of these as well - you will spend about the same but the experience will be so much richer.Drawbacks? Well the main thing to be aware of is that this monitor is huge. Not just in terms of width, but the curve and the size of the stand needed means a lot of depth too, you need a decent sized desk. It is heavy too. There is also an annoying glitch where on powering up the PC, the screen doesn't receive a signal briefly between the POST test and the Windows loading screen where the monitor can drop back into standby and not come to life when the PC has booted. Apparently this is a longstanding issue between Samsung and Nvidia, but is not insurmountable - a little fiddling with the little joystick you use for the menus soon brings the picture up. EDIT: This issue was down to me. When I connected up the monitor I connected to the second of the two DisplayPort connectors. I have since swapped it to DisplayPort 1 and have had no further incidence of this problem - useful information if you are buying one of these.Setup is pretty easy, with the screen being held in place in the packaging while you attach the stand etc.All in all, a really amazing screen that will increase your enjoyment of gaming on your PC no end - as long as you have the grunt within the PC to drive it.

Perfect for racing sims
So 1st off, I managed to get this for £699, hence the 5 star value for money. If it's more when you're looking knock off stars accordingly! However, what can I say, coming from a fairly old 24" 1080p monitor this thing is incredible! It is 2 27" monitors side by side but without the bezel.I haven't needed to play around with the settings much, the image was great right out of the box.Somehow even my RTX2060 6gb can power most games to run 32:9 too (Wolfenstein Young blood runs out of VRam in 1440p, but still looks good in 1080p), although I have had a huge CPU bottleneck with Assetto Corsa Competizione. That game also doesn't seem to like freesynch/gsynch.I initially thought I would just play my racing sims on wide-screen and everything else I would just play in standard 16:9 mode.Hah! No way! If it runs in 32:9, and my card has enough VRam I'm playing it that way! Heck even if I need to play in 1080p I'm using 32:9 mode.Colours are great, pixel density is great, HDR works, but only turn it on when needed. Freesynch is great and works with Nvidia cards (except ACC as I mentioned).A real plus is that you can set up 3 different profiles per input, really useful if different users have different preferences. It is huge, about 1.2 metres long. So you need a big desk.It also doesn't always auto switch on from standby, so you have to press the on button. But this isn't a deal breaker for me.In summary:Brilliant for racing games (although triples is better), but everything else looks great too!Although a better card than my RTX2060 is ideal, you can just about get away with it.
