A rare example of a WW1 infantry model kit
I spotted the Masterbox range by accident. What caught my attention is that the designs of their 1/35 sets are somewhat different to their contemporaries (for example, German soldiers playing cards, and a Boxing match between British and American aircrews). The premise of figures in poses/scenarios in the lulls between fighting make a refreshing change from the usual combatative stances. I thought that this set (I suspect based on an actual WW1 photo) would make a nice complement to the Mark IV tank I'd also purchased (although there might be a slight anachronism there, on my part). Details of the figures are excellent, and assembly looks straighforward. My only fear is the rifles and bayonets look quite delicate, but that's the price to pay for accuracy of scale. Without a diorama or scene to place them on, it would've been nice to have some small, round bases to enable the figures to stand upright on their own. On the whole, a good product.

Something different
These figures are as good as tamaya. I can give them no higher praise. The novel thing about master box figures is that instead of being in "normal" soldierly positions (eg marching ,running etc) like this set they lend themselves to novel dioramas. Another set I bought are American paratroops in tank riding positions perfect for anormandy or market garden diorama.

Clarify detail
Used for a display based on WW1. The figures are all that I wanted, but the instructions need to be enhanced, a little. For example, the tiny parts that represented water bottles and cartridge boxes, could nt be separated from the surrounding clothing etc. In view of the size of the parts, this is not surprising, but an enlargement would perhaps have helped.

Fantastic
I love Master Box figures. Ratio price-quality is fantastic. Prices are very competitive if you think another brands are nearly twice more expensive. Figure poses are very dramatic and helps a lot when you like to tell a history in a small diorama.

The molding and sculpting is excellent. Clean up of parts is minimal
The molding and sculpting is excellent. Clean up of parts is minimal. The only draw back is the attachment of the arms on the soldier being carried. This has to be done carefully. But anyone with intermediate experiance can acheive this without any unsightly joins being visible. Excellent.
