Honeybees are amazing insects and complicated as well. This set of slides is from the worker bee and you can begin to see just how specialised they are for collecting nectar and pollen to make honey. The parts of the bee have been treated to make them quite safe and they are protected under a glass coverslip which is attached permanently with a canada balsam type mountant.
