LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Special Edition (Xbox 360)

The storyline is handled well, unlike in the latest Marvel game which was all over the place at times, which make this a great game to get into. The flying vehicles are also a lot of fun, with plenty of races and challenges in each level for you to have a go at. The only real (minor) grumble I have with it is the load times between Hubs, it's a slow loading game at times which does take you out of the action a tad at times.

My boys enjoyed it however they seem to of finished the game relatively quickly in comparison to other games they have.

Unfortunately the game is full of bugs and glitches that haven't and quite possibly can't be removed through patches. The frame rate on the game is extremely poor often lags to a point where it looks more like a slideshow of pictures than a moving image. The game only took me two weeks to complete, which includes all the xbox achievements and collectibles. I only completed the game because of my interest in Star Wars and seeing what would happen if I collected everything (I was also very bored this summer, as I have a longer holiday than usual). I actually prefer playing Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, as it doesn't have any of these issues with bugs or frame rate and has much more gameplay hours to complete it. I know that this game is aimed at younger audiences who might not notice all of these bugs, but if the developers published this game knowing how bad it is, then the TT games have only created the game for money rather than to make people enjoy what could have been as nostalgic and successful as Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga. It may be that the game has been made for later generation consoles and just badly optimised for the xbox 360, but in that case, it should have been tested more thoroughly in order to make the game more enjoyable.

I have a thing about Lego being an AFOL so whenever the games come out (especially when they have a free minifigure attached) I will normally buy it from Amazon for arrival on the day of release. This was no different. Received it, pulled out the minifigure and put it away safe (it's these figures that are sort after) and popped the game in. The only thing wrong with these games though is you have to sit through the cartoon stories. You can't bypass the damn things until you've played the level so half the time is spent watching those before you get to the action of the game. That's the only bug bear I have with Lego games. However, game is ok, it's not great and definitely not as good as Avengers as you don't have any flying characters (you have hovering ones but they're not great) to be able to get to bricks that are out of the way with no easy way of getting to them. Apart from that it's a decent enough game, if not a bit tedious after a few goes. Shame cos I love these ones normally.

My nephew loved this gift. It kept him happy and busy for hours!

My son loves the lego series of games and advised me that this one Is his favourite yet!
