Very Enjoyable To Use Recommend
This is a lovely compact, light weight tavel set that fits nicely in my handbag with a small watercolour pad.The colours are lovely, vibrant translucent colours that mix well and apply smoothly. There are plenty of spaces to mix colours and a nice little paint brush and water bottle that are secured well for travel. Its a good quality of construction and well thought out. I would say age range for this would be teen and up. I would not give this to a child any younger due to small parts etc.Very enjoyable to use.Recommend for student up.Delivery was within time given and packaged appropriately.

Great Design, Very Handy when Travelling
I work for an airline and am away every week for a few days. I decided recently that it would be nice to start painting again and wanted something I could take with me in my case with a pad and a few brushes etc.I really like the design and it works very well for me with all the little pull out palettes and a good set of basic colours. The quality of the Cotman watercolour paints is excellent too. I usually use their tubes and have always been a bit sceptical about the pans, however I find them easy to activate and can dry them out easily again with a hair dryer to pack the set back into my case.I think some people could find some of the openings a bit fiddly, but certainly for me it is an excellent little kit that allows me to paint on my travels with the minimum of stuff in my case.

Perfect and clever design
Brilliant and compact. It is perfectly balanced in the hand with a thumb ring. Super quality paint for use in my A5 sketch pad on location. I did add a cut down pencil into a waiting slot next to the brush and swapped colours I wouldn't ever use for ones more appropriate for landscape. ie removing the black, white and viridian.

Handy travel kit
Handy little watercolour kit, it goes with me everywhere, I’m just starting out in the world of water colour & sketching. I have to say the compact size is deceptive. I have changed a colour pan or two (that’s just my personal choice) the good thing is you can. I will say putting a drop of water in each pan when you first get it will help with stopping them dropping out during transit.I like this a lot

Ingenious!
I have just done my first pure water colour painting for 50 years (see my Facebook page). This is an amazingly compact little folding water colour box, containing everything you need for plein aire painting.

Bit bulky for a travel set
The case is quite bulky for a travel set. It comes with two water pots that latch onto the side of the case, however these are really small. The Winsor & Newton field travel box is a much better size for travel and although it has less mixing areas is overall a better bet.

Delightful to use!
How wonderful it is to finally use watercolors that aren’t chalky! I love using these in combination with colored pencils and inks. They layer beautifully and I have a lot of control on a smaller scale. The portability is a huge plus, and there’s pallets on pallets. HUGE recommend.

My favourite set
Love this watercolour set. It has heaps of palette area. I don’t prefer the Cotman paints though and will replace them as they are used up. The water bottle is a much more convenient size than my other W&N field set.

Great palette design and paint
This review is from the point of view of someone (i.e., me) who has been painting indoors with artist quality paints (usually Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, & M. Graham) and 100% cotton paper for a few years.I wanted to try painting plein air or perhaps join the local urban sketchers group. My usual artist paints generally do not dry on the pans quickly enough so I decided to look online for a full outdoor set instead of using my usual paints. After looking at so many sets available, I finally settled on this particular set as it has all the requirements I had in mind, which I will outline next. The entire set is small and compact. The water bottle is a good size so I can have several rounds of painting on a single outing. The water containers themselves are small but as there are 2 of them, they serve their purpose. I can just throw away the dirty water and refill them again. The water containers can be placed on 1 side only, or 1 on each side. The additional palettes (if you need to use them) open out on the top and bottom only, not the sides, so it is a lot easier to hold the set in one hand when you are painting. If you need to set the palette down, you can do so easily as the water containers are small enough and do not stick out below the palette. Although Cotman is not Winsor & Newton’s artist paints, the quality of the paint is really good and I could not find any difference in quality from their artist paints. When you first insert the paint blocks into the pans, you will notice how they move out of the pan when you carry the set about. However, after my first painting session, the blocks stuck to the pans and this was not a problem anymore. The pans can be removed individually or as a set of 4.Take note that the water bottle can be removed for refilling even when the palette is closed. The finishing of the set is gorgeous. However, after taking it out a few times with me, my set is all scratched. This is not a problem for me.The only thing I do not like about this set is the brush as it does not have a proper cover. I did accidently close the palette onto the bristles and bent them but I managed to fixed them later. Also, if you need to paint something larger, you will need a larger brush. This is not a big problem and I have already ordered my own travel brushes online from other vendors. In all, I feel that this set is worth the price. I love it. I intend to use it for a long time. I can buy the refills locally.
