A superb expensive brush - A1500 ProClinical
The Colgate A1500 is a really decent toothbrush that's for sure. I've been using it for more than 3 months now and I plan to use it for a very long time. Let's see its advantages...: + Really good results. My teeth and gums are definitely squeaky clean after the 2 min brushing. My gums sometimes become irritated if I don't clean them well. Since I started using A1500 I haven't had this problem. Before that I had to brush thoroughly for 5 minutes to get this results. + The charge of the brush is long lasting. I use it twice a day and it lasts for a week. + Brushing your teeth is fun and easy. Actually there is an addictive part since the vibrations at some point become pleasant. There is an accustom period but this is like a week maximum. After that you won't want to return to your manual brush. + It comes with 3 replaceable heads and a travel case. The manufacturer states that a head must be changed every 2 months but I intend to change them every 3. + The brush's body is made out of plastic and rubber that feel premium. ...and disadvantages: - There is no battery indicator. You don't know when the brush needs charging and when it's fully charged. The manual says you have to charge it for 16h. I always leave my to charge longer. - When left upright the brush is not really stable that's why I leave mine lying on the surface. - Expensive if bought on a regular price. I bought mine during a big sale. I really like the brush and the results. You must know that even with this brush you still have to floss and use mouth water. The brush only can decrease the time you need to brush your teeth so they are clean and do it properly. If you already have a good technique with a manual brush this brush can only make the process be more pleasant and not to feel like a chore. It comes in a sturdy luxury red box that secures the product well.

An Amazing Product
I had originally bought this product just under 3yrs ago, but overtime the battery was unable to retain the charge, hence the brushing time got less and less when eventually, I couldn't fully brush my teeth before the toothbrush ran out of charge. I contacted Colgate asking about a replacement rechargeable battery i.e. what was the part number and how to replace it. However, Colgate went beyond the call of duty and requested proof of purchase and on producing this, they requested I posted the toothbrush back to them (free post) for a FULL refund - hat's off to Colgate for an excellent customer service. Knowing the kind of customer service Colgate offered, I didn't hesitate to buy a replacement. The toothbrush is very (freakishly) clever.... It has smart sensors which adjusts the speed automatically depending which angle you're holding the brush for different part of the tooth It enables you to manually adjust the speed of the brush from "Auto", "Optimum" to "Deep Clean" - best way to describe this is from a "twin prop engine plane" to a "fighter jet"!! It also has a timer, which from switching-on the toothbrush, it will remain active for 2mins and within those 2mins, every 30secs, the toothbrush pauses for a micro second before continuing, intimating to move to another part of your mouth i.e. I use the 1st 30secs to do the front of the top set of teeth, then the next 30secs to brush the back and so, on... From each full charge, brushing for 2mins twice a day, the charge will last for approx. 5 days before requiring to recharge. As explained earlier, the number of brushes per charge diminishes with time due to the rechargeable battery holding less charge, but this will be a gradual thing over 3yrs from my experience - all rechargeable battery eventually start to loose their charge holding capacity. The product is well built and designed to last, unfortunately, this is a discontinued product and the replacement model is not as clever as this one - buy it while they are available!! An excellent product.

I've been using the cheapest Oral-B electric toothbrush. So i decided to buy a better one and i saw that the Colgate A1500 (most expensive electric toothbrush of Colgate) was at an insanely low price and i decided to give it a try. It has a great design and it looks powerful and ready to clean the crap out of your teeth. Well it has nothing positive about the brushing. 1) Auto modes. Need to keep the head straight all the time for the sensors to adjust to the correct angle. Really bothered in the morning when i need to go to work and i have to play like a kid to clean a tooth 2) Two manual modes. Optimum mode feels right while brushing but i prefer using my finger with some salt. Deep clean mode can clean the teeth (not 100% satisfied, probably 70% max) but hurts my gums. 3) 30 second pacers scared me every time. They come out of no where and not as smooth as u expect it to be. 4) Last but most important the two minute timer. I find it extremely nice that electric toothbrushes have a timer at 2 minutes because it makes the brushing procedure easier and with the 30 second pacers you don't loose track of time or over-brush your teeth or your gums. 2 minutes is a lot less time required, compared with the time needed from a manual toothbrush to clean the teeth. The Colgate A1500 for some reason needs a lot more time. I never managed to finish at 2 minutes and be happy with the results. The strokes of this toothbrush is just vibrations. Using the toothbrush the way suggested by the manufacturer, was the worse way i could use this toothbrush; i finished brushing and apart from the taste of the toothpaste there was no sign of clean teeth.I tried every way possible and was never satisfied with the results. The gums DO NOT get brushed. I've been using this toothbrush for 2 weeks and my gums did not feel clean not even for a second. Im really disappointed with this product and the 38 pounds i paid to buy it. It's high price (RRP £189) does not match with it's nonexistent abilities. To be honest i wouldn't put that toothbrush in my mouth even if Colgate paid me to.

A first-class product until it breaks
A great product if you can afford to replace it at the end of its distressingly-short life. This brush is a joy to use. It adjusts its speed to match where you are brushing, and got me a plaudit from my dentist for how well I'd been cleaning (the first ever). It's comfortable to hold, and the spare brush-heads are reasonably-priced (especially when compared with the Sonicare ones I used to use). The only minor irritation is that the 30-second blip isn't always detectable -- it can be hidden by an automatic change of speed; they really need to include a buzzer rather than relying on a blip in the power. This is my second A1500. The first broke at the joint under the switches after a little over two years. That sounds a reasonable life, but I only use this brush once a day, and am the only user. I estimate it was used fewer than 800 times, meaning it ran for under 27 hours. Colgate ignored my letter asking about repairs, so you shouldn't expect any after-sales service. My letter included that attached photo to show the problem.

Very good product
This toothbrush was recommended to me by my dentist. No, he wasn't trying to sell it to me, he told me about the offer on Amazon (when I bought it, there was about 75% off) and suggested it as it's currently one of the best to purchase on the market. Now, I'm no dentist, but this is what my dentist told me... Bacteria lock together on the surface of your teeth. This brush vibrates in a way that separates them, meaning they get brushed away, reducing the build up of plaque. I'm sure that's an overly simplistic explanation, but hey - that's the basic gist. Anyway, as it was reduced I thought I'd give it a go. The brush is great, very easy to use and my mouth feels clean after using it. I read the negative reviews about the product and can't really understand them. The brush is well made. My only criticism is the massive amount of packaging for such a small product - very wasteful. But I guess on a shelf in a shop, they have to make it look like 180 quid's worth. It took a while to get used to the action of brush when I started using it. It made my lips tingle to start with, as it vibrates so fast. But that only last a couple of days. It's a great product and means I only have to go to the dentist once a year for a checkup now, instead of every 6 months. So in a round about way, it's saving me money. Overall, it's a good product and works well.

definitely a brush for your teeth
Being a non-conformist , over the years i have tried various different methods to clean my teeth (belt sanders , hammers , wire brushes , acid , a cat) but my mouth looked like a derelict graveyard so then i decided to try what everybody else is using ... a “toothbrush†. I tried to save money by buying a normal toothbrush, holding it against my teeth and jumping up and down 32,500 times per second but , to be honest , it was very tiring so i stumped up for this little beauty. It is very simple to use , you plug it into a wall-socket and a substance called “electricity†powers up the device . Apply toothpaste to the brush , hold it against your teeth , switch it on and hey presto! before you can say “Donny Osmond†your teeth are sparkling clean. My girlfriend must use it all the time because when i come home from work she is often locked in the bathroom and a loud vibrating sound can be heard within so she must be pleased with it as well , certainly she always looks happy when she comes out

Great electric brush
We have had this electric toothbrush for over a year and are very impressed with the cleaning ability and strength of the pulses. We are pleased with the purchase and have noticed a difference in the colour staining on front teeth just from brushing. I like the gum sensor that turns on if brush is angled and I don't find myself turning off the brush like another review said. Very happy with purchase.

Great when you get used to it
It's very different from my old Philips brush, much slimmer and smoother, and far easiler to keep clean. More importantly, it is far more powerful and operates at a far higher frequency. The thing that takes some getting used to is the AUTO mode. The brush is sensitive to to the angle that the handle is held, but that is the angle to which the brush is rotated or twisted, assuming the long axis of the brush is held horizontally. Until I learned how to use it, this meant that the speed of the brush varied every time I moved my head. At this stage it was a bit like having a round of Moto GP taking place in my mouth- which was a little strange! You can avoid this by selecting one of the constant speed modes, OPTIMUM (medium speed) or DEEP CLEAN (very fast)- or by learning how to use th AUTO mode. Having learned how to work it, it does a superb job.
