Great for the price
I need an accurate scale that will handle smaller weights of .01 (.001 would be even better) and up to 5lbs. It must be priced reasonably as well. This one does the job.I raise composting and bait worms for sale. In order to figure out what food source and bedding helps them grow the best I need a scale that I can use to weigh individual large worms as well as groups of them. I also need an accurate scale for shipping. Since the post office will charge the customer extra (or even return) a package that is .05oz over the prepaid postage it is important that it be as accurate as possible, but also affordable since my company is very small and just starting out. This one does the trick for my current needs. I’d prefer if it was accurate down to .001, but those are very expensive if they also work for higher weights. Overall it does what I need it to right now at an affordable price. I may buy a small jewelry scale or possibly a true lab scale later on to fulfill my need for smaller weights but for now this one is fine. With any scale it’s important to calibrate it every time it is moved, which will be often for me. Having it calibrate easily was an important feature. It took under 2 mins to do so the first couple times and will probably be even quicker after using for a while. One thing that was a huge draw back is that I was originally sent one that was obviously used, scratched up and damaged. I knew I’d exchange it but wanted to test it to ensure it would suit my needs. Unfortunately it was very glitchy and kept flashing various numbers (parts of which were burned out). I needed the scale the next day but it wouldn’t get to me until the following. While returns are easy they are far from convenient. This is the third used item shipped and the sixth damaged item in a months time. What’s really bad about that is I’d only ordered eight items in that time frame! That being said…when it arrives make sure to check it over and test as soon as possible to ensure it works by the time you actually need it and don’t allow the 30 days to laps before using it several times. It’s a very good scale for the price. Including the calibration weight is very helpful as well, many others do not provide them, requiring an additional purchase and possibly a long wait time. I double checked to make sure the calibration weight was accurate as well and it was right on the nose when compared with a couple items I know the exact weight of. Just treat the scale with care and if possible place the weight into a velvet bag or other similar to keep it from getting scratched up or it will no longer be accurate. If I had the choice I’d definitely buy it again…as long as they’d guarantee a new working item was shipped and handle things like this a little more carefully.

Followed instructions to a T and the scale would not ever calibrate correctly.
The scale would not calibrate. I wanted to like this and spent too much time trying to make it work. Look elsewhere.

Displays accurate weights
I checked with standard weights and the scale read correctly.

Poor documentation
I just received it so accuracy is still unknown. The manual lists different units abbreviated but offers no unabbreviated list. Most are obvious but I have no idea about %, TOL, or MM.Mine displays Err SP at times. Again no error list in the documentation. It displays U- and a number on power on, also no description. Is it important? Who knows? The 5kg unit does not include any calibration weight of any kind.Leveling feet and bubble level are nice to have. There is no cover.I suppose it is a decent value if you never touch the units button.

High quality item at a very good price!
The scale is made well, its accurate, and it was very affordable. When I first received the item I wasnt very happy with it though because it was much larger in person than I thought it was gonna be. But after using it for a week or two its totally grown on me! I don't need it to be compact or portable. Its very accurate and it has a large balance pan so I can weigh a decent amount of material at once. If you need a large, solid, accurate desktop analytical balance then give it a try! I'm very happy with it now!

Nice scale, but needs a cover
This scale feels very sturdy and has some heft to it, weighing about 1.67Kg. Unlike others I own, this one does not have an internal rechargable battery. It also does not have a physical on/off switch, so I'd be surprised if batteries last very long when left installed. I only plan to use it with the adapter. One thing I should note is that the adapter cord length was a bit too short for my liking, but not ridiculously short. It comes with a 500g weight for calibration, but I did not try to calibrate it. There is only a single sheet of instructions, and the process didn't seem very clear. I doubt that it would have benefited from me trying to calibrate it.It has multiple unit modes that can be cycled through. The instructions mention ct, oz, lb, and kg, but the scale also does troy oz, grams, and pennyweight. It also had three other modes that I couldn't figure out and are not listed in the instruction sheet.I liked how the tray mounted to the scale, and the accuracy seemed good. I noticed very little positional variance in how weights were placed. The 500g varied from 499.89 to 499.98 depending on position, which is not much of a variance (0.01%). The worst error was a 2g weight coming in at 1.99. I suspect that the scale is +/-0.01g best case, regardless of item wieght, and no better than 99.99% accurate on heavier items. One notable thing it is missing is a cover to protect the tray while not in use. As it is, I need remove the tray and put it back in its box for safe storage. The tray mounts with 2 hex screws. The scale includes 2 spare screws and a small wrench. As I type this review, the scale is listed at $90. At this price point, it is crowded field, with many options. I'm going to give it 5 stars even though I wish it had a protective cover. I like its high accuracy and low positional variance on weight placement. Disappointments include no cover and a short power adapter cord.
