It keeps the food warm. Not too hot but decent. I typically rinse the box in hot water and wipe it before adding food to it.. and that helps with keeping food warm for longer.

Good . GO for it
I kept little warm water at 9.20 PM to check how many hour it can keep it at same temp. At 1.30 AM it was luke warm ..thoda reduce hua tha heat .And at 8 AM it was at normal temp . So i can say it can retain heat for 4 hour well .If you keep hot food then it will obviously retain its heat longer than 4 hr . I bought it to give my daughter fruits and fried rice or pasta for lunch...it is working good .
