These are great towels - absorbent, cute colors, dry quickly in the sun, large size, wash nicely. Not as bulky as the standard cotton beach towel, which is what I was going for. Great price, will order more.

I like everything about these beach towels. My home is in Hawaii and these towels are prefect for use in the Hawaiian environment. These towels are of a lighter weight than a conventional plush towel, but that is just fine since we often experience an onshore breeze here and we are dry a few moments after exiting the water. So a lighter weight towel is perfect. And the towel serves as a very stylish coverup and is perfect for use to dry my head and particularly my hair after exiting the water since that doesn't blow dry in the breeze as fast as exposed skin. So far as water absorbancy goes, these towels work just fine. But the Hawaiian environment is generally cooler and probably more windy than is, say, Miami, Fl. So while I love these towels using them here in Hawaii, I might not feel the same way if I lived in Florida. These towels are soft and comfy. They are wonderful. And I purchased these towels (both sets). They aren't some freebie that I am reviewing. I am just honestly impressed with these towels. Some reviewers have complained about towel size variations. In the accompanying photos you will see 2 towels each from two separate sets of 4 towels in one photo. In another photo I compare two towels, one from each set. Are there size variations? Yes, one set it slightly longer overall (by an inch or so) than the other set. Do I care? These towels are big and conformable. When I am walking around with one towel and my sweetheart is walking about with another towel, why would it possibly bother me that the towels are of slightly different sizes? You can only see the difference if you place them on top of each other. So take a look at the photo where a common design feature is shown for both a grey towel and a mauve towel. In this photo one towel is placed on top of another and you can see a difference. But that difference is inconsequential, at least to me. The bottom line for me is that these are wonderful stylish towels available at a decent price. What more could you want? If they have to be exactly the same size, then buy something else.

These light weight beach towels feel quality-made and are better than I expected! They are made of 90% cotton/10% polyester, so not terry cloth like a regular towel. I ordered the baby blue and white. The color is vivid, as pictured, and they are ample in size. I would describe them as a heavy cotton, but not stiff. I ordered them for a trip to Hawaii knowing we would have limited space in our luggage, and they will pack nicely. The washing instructions said to wash in cold water on delicate cycle and tumble dry low, but I washed in warm water on regular cycle and put them in the dryer for several minutes until the wrinkles came out, then removed to air dry fully. They dried fast and turned out beautifully! They will be good for pool days, too, since they dry so quickly and take up less room than a conventional towel.

This item works fine for my purpose which is to have in our cars when our dog happens to jump into a body of water unexpectedly. They are quite thin, come with a carrying bag, and look pretty nice and trendy. They dry pretty rapidly in my experience as they are pretty compact, but they are probably closer to a thin blanket. They have no texture to really wipe water off of a slick surface, but it works for me!

Took these to the beach recently and they were fantastic! They dried quickly and didn’t hold a lot of sand. They are super soft and have now been washed many times and have held up well. Kids and adults liked wrapping up in them as they are bigger than our other towels.

Best towels for the beach. The sand shakes right out of them. And they wash and dry beautifully. I washed on cold the first time and dried them on the regular setting in the dryer. They came out perfect! Highly recommend

These are the best towels for going to the beach or on the boat during summer. Lightweight, dry fast, easy to use, very durable, soft, very absorbent, easy to clean and dries fast. I've had My first set of these towels for over 2 years and just ordered more and they all still look and feel fantastic. These towels last forever and there are plenty big enough for adults.

OK first, the people saying these aren't absorbent: New cotton items like this need to be washed many times before they begin to absorb, and many detergents "clog" the cotton with optical brighteners. I used cloth diapers when raising a little one so I already knew that and washed these a bunch of times with a detergent that's especially good for cloth diapers (NOT that big brand everyone loves), with vinegar in the rinse. The same is true for all towels, fluffy or not, it's just more noticeable in these towels especially when new. Everyone should be washing anything in their home that's supposed to be absorbent as one would wash cloth diapers (bath towels, kitchen towels, cleaning rags ...) So that's not a product flaw, by any means. I bought a set of 6 of these towels in varied bright colors so everyone can tell which towel belongs to whom. The problems I found are that by the time I'd washed them enough to be ready to use, they'd already bled a lot and several tassels had come untied, which yields a sloppy fraying appearance. The bleeding isn't incredibly obvious, but each individual towel is definitely "tinted" with its color in the white area. I'd suggest if this is a concern, get a whole set in a similar color. Also make sure they never sit wet in the washer or the black towel will leave spots on the white part of the red towel, etc. But of course if they're all the same color that defeats the purpose of knowing which towel belongs to which person. It'd be nice if Lane Linen made a set that had no white stripes at all, making the bleeding less obvious (They are 100% cotton, which is what one wants in a bath towel, and so the bleeding might be unavoidable). I also imagine that washing them all together, over time, makes the colors sort of grayish. The sides on these are hemmed, and hemmed nicely, as opposed to the woven-in selvedge edge usually found in this type of towel at this price. The cotton is also heavier and the towel a little larger than other "Turkish" towels I have bought at similar price points. The towels feel nice and soft (provided they are washed correctly), and they do dry quickly. They do require a different approach to drying one's body as "fluffy" towels do, but that doesn't necessarily make them "worse." It's just different. I expect drying performance to improve: I still have 22" x 22" cotton kitchen towels that are 10 years old (and therefore their water-repellant "new cotton" finish is long gone), and I can dry myself fully with one of those after a shower. You just have to press a little harder to the body because - of course - a towel can't dry what it doesn't touch, and without "fluff" the towel won't touch what it isn't pressed up against. The 3 stars is mostly because of the poorly done tassels. The fringe is cut too close to the knot, and the knots too loose, so before we'd even used the towels several fringes had come untied. If I had to do it over I'd (ugh) go through every single fringe on every single towel, pulling the knots tightly and adding a drop of fabric glue, to maintain the nice-looking factory fringe. I anticipate pulling out the sewing machine, cutting off the fringe, and adding hems eventually. For the price that isn't awful -- one couldn't buy fabric at this cost -- but for me 3 stars means "you get what you pay for" not "oh wow."
