Dogit Go-Slow Anti-Gulp Dog Bowl, Black, Large, 1.2 Litre

One of the best buys for my dogs made so far. Having recently acquired two 6 month old greedy pups, I was open to suggestions as to how to slow their eating down and stop them swallowing their entire meal in one gulp. This was recommended by a friend who had just got one for her new pup. I decided to get them first class and they arrived next day in time for their next meal! It was worth it, what used to take 15 seconds to devour and then choke on or bring back up, now takes at least 3 whole minutes. They no longer choke and snort and they enjoy their food so much more. They actually enjoy their food now. You have to make sure the food is pressed well onto rack area of the bowl, and I find adding a bit of hot water to their kibble helps the food last longer as it sticks to the bottom of the bowl more. They actually finish their food the same time as the adults now and there is less panic from the adult dogs, they know they can enjoy their food and the pups won't be dashing over to grab the leftovers! I got two pink ones in small size, and I have shihtzus. They are exactly the right size and will last them a lifetime. They are durable and well made, and infact, a lovely shade of dusky pink. I would definitely recomend these to any one with a dog that needs to slow it's eating.

I bought this to prevent my Dobermann scoffing his food in a matter of seconds as he was having occasional problems coughing, almost choking and occasionally vomiting afterwards due to the sheer volume of food ingested in such a short time. We'd tried the usual alternatives before finding this product such as putting a ball in with the food to make it harder for him to eat round etc but with little success, as he learns too quickly how to get round it. In the first couple of days the dish did slow him down considerably meaning he could actually eat instead of hoovering up his biscuits, however we have noticed that over the weeks since then he has persisted and can now clear the dish in 30 seconds again, so we still use the dish but give him food in several smaller doses over a period of 20 minutes or so as it seems impossible to slow him down! Great product, definitely a good idea...

I am not normally one for reviews however I am that impressed with this dish I feel I need to share. Firstly the reason for purchasing I have a very fast eating cavapoo who will eat her food so fast that within 5 minutes it all comes back! I saw quite a few dishes for anti gulp, but mostly showing kibble, we feed complete raw and wanted a dish that she couldnt gulp her food down, but then wasn't a pain to clean after. The dish arrived the day after ordered we love amazon prime!! first impression which we wasnt expecting was the excellent quality, this is not a cheap plastic dish that will last a couple of weeks its built to last, its a good weight and with added rubber at the bottom it doesnt slip or slide around the floor, and it does what it says and has made her not gulp her food down ! and with the added bonus she licks the whole dish clean so easy washing! If you are looking for a good dog dish you will be happy with this one!

This bowl resembles a 1962 Mini Cooper wheel in both size and design but the most important factor is that it works. My staffie pup has yet to acquaint himself with mealtime etiquette and will suction up a regular bowl of food in five seconds. This often resulted in him jumping into my lap and belching proudly in my face or worse, vomiting his food right back up and slinking off to his crate where he'd sit with his nose touching his bed in acute embarrassment. Unfortunately the lesson was never learned and the next time round he'd do it again. The first time he ate from this bowl his scoffing duration jumped from a handful of seconds to seven minutes. After a few weeks of practice that decreased markedly as he got his technique down and has now levelled out at a still respectable 30 seconds. Hence, no more vomiting and his previously resonant belches have decreased in ferocity and can now be safely ignored in polite company. With his new bowl my staffie treats mealtimes as a serious business. When given the word he strides over and really puts some effort into the process, snuffling like a pig and working his whole body with such vigour that his back legs sometimes leave the ground. The only downside to the whole business - and it is a minor one - is that his exertions sometime catapult the food onto places it should not be - on the floor, up the walls, in his water bowl. A few days ago I found a biscuit in his ear. Still, a good buy and I recommend it.

It seems solidly made. I have a malinois and bought large. The gaps are way too wide to slow her eating. I can only imagine this size being suitable for a dog with a wide nose, for example a cane corsa or similar shaped face. No dimensions are included in the description which is frustrating

I dropped and broke my last slow feeder bowl so needed a new one. These are great for gulpy eaters like my two golden retrievers.

El material es de buena calidad. Es robusto, asì que el perro no lleva arrastrando el comedero con el morro mientras come. Los obstaculos son suficientes para que la comida se haga más despacio, pero sin convertirlo en un suplicio para el perro. El tamaño es perfecto para mi perro de 7Kg (no le lleno el cuenco, pero le doy una toma por la mañana y otra por la tarde). La base mide 17 cm de diametro, y la apertura del cuenco mide 13 cm de diametro, y 5 cm de profundidad. La entrega ha tardado solo dos días en Madrid.

Don't know why this works, but it does. Our puppy no longer hacks up water after she drinks. And it actually seems to have taught her to drink more slowly - she can now drink properly from other bowls, too.
