I purchased this remembering the cutters I used when I was a kid, that had an actual blade and would slice through tall weeds and grass like butter. This ain't it. My first try was a complete fail, more just bending the grass than cutting it. Then I read another reviewer say that you need to use a golf swing; this tore/shredded the grass but at least it was shorter. And required so much force that the grass flew all over the place. The "blade" is 1mm thick - not sharp at all. Not sure why all the models are like this, but I had to go electric in order to get the job done, which I did NOT want to do. So disappointed.

This is good for tall weeds and even grass, just know if not use to the arm swing it will tire you out.You have to get at a good momentum and swing consistently back and forth to trim back the weeds. The item isn’t sharp, so no worries about cutting yourself if hit your leg.

So far so good. Product seems solid, got it next day after order. Can't wait to jack down some tall grass.

Very short for a six foot tall person. Could be much sharper too. Bent the shaft the first time I used it.

I love how effective this whip is at clearing the tall grass and newer green growth, but it is not for clearing woody shrubs. The only thing I didn’t like was how surprisingly difficult it was to assemble since the tools did not fit the pieces that came with it. Also note that you have to apply an adhesive to the handle attachment which needs to set and cure for 24 hours before use. Overall, the tool is lightweight, strong, and effective for clearing grass, weeds, and shrubbery less than an inch thick and I would recommend it!

The grass whip is functional but not very effective or efficient. The blade is not sharp and it requires quite a lot of physical effort to basically knock down the vegetation, grass or weeds. It does work but be prepared to put some effort into it! and even then, it doesn't cut cleanly. I would not buy again.

This item is a piece of junk. It dell apart after 5 minutes of use. Don't waste your money on it. I had to give a rating, one star is way too high.
