The Get Things Done Book: 41 Tools to Start, Stick With and Finish Things
B**L
Misleading title. Disappointing content.
This book is well written, very short and mildly enjoyable at times. However, I do not understand why it’s called The Get Things Done book, when there is so little content about getting things done.I was looking for, and expected a focus on productivity, reducing procrastination and finding techniques to get me through my never ending to do list. Most of this book is about good management techniques, and the usual sort of theory aimed at improving your corporate career. While around 5% of the book looks at getting things done, the other 95% is bog standard management theory and doesn’t even try to disguise itself as relating to productivity. I guess the authors chose this title to improve sales and calling it “Standard Management Waffle” would not have done so well for its sales.
