Has some nice features
This radio doesn't work with Chirp. The programming software is hard to find and seems sketchy - I wouldn't feel comfortable installing it on my main PC. That said, the radio works and has a couple of features that make it worth the hassle to me with a primary use of backup off-road trail communication.- USB-C charging: Charging port is on the battery and is a dumb port (so USB-C to USB-C cables and fast charging do not work), but it's one less cable type and/or cradle that I need to carry.- Channel Sync: I primarily use simplex communication with an individual or a group. I have no need for both an A and a B channel, and having two frequencies listening at the same time can be annoying. The sync feature lets you keep A and B in sync, while displaying the name on A and frequency on B.- Flat back: With the belt clip removed, the back of the battery is fairly large and flat. I affixed an adhesive metal plate to the back of the battery and use a magnetic phone mount for holding the radio in my vehicle. The easy on/off is very convenient, and with the USB-C port coming out the bottom of the battery I can charge the radio while it is mounted.

Time will tell.
Just arrived a few minutes ago. Look and feel are very nice. Texture fits my hand perfectly. Can't beat the price either. We will see.

Great hardware, just be aware this firmware is locked to HAM frequencies
There are two versions of the UV-13 board, V1 and V2. These units on Amazon are V2 and generally output around 6 watts. The firmware varies per the model number and you can flash it to whatever you prefer to unlock the frequencies you need. I've seen a couple buzzy units but replaced those via return without issue.
