Great resource to help people get in touch with their grief
I am a counsellor and would strongly recommend this book to help people get in touch with their grief. I use it with adults and children, even though it is a children's book. It is beautifully written with sensitivity and a reality which touches all ages, and can help us to start to understand the profound impact that death has on us. In my experience it has helped some of my clients to open up difficult conversations about death and loss.

Beautiful!
Just beautifully and honestly written. Not only for children. Adults would resonate too.

Facing bereavement bravely
Just a lovely book to have around, particularly to share with children if a family bereavement has occurred. Helped my granddaughter and myself when her great grandma, my mother, died recently.

A beautiful little book.
A wonderful book that addresses the nuances of love and loss. Michael Rosen’s words are beautiful as always. As an adult, I found this book so empowering as have pupils in my classroom.

Exactly how I feel
This book shockingly write down exactly how I feel! It really helped just to read ot out loud and to know I am not alone I felt some relief after reading it. I highly recommend it to all who lost a child or loved ones. I lost my son and my mum just like the fuy in the book and had a forced fake smile on for 2 decade.

Oustanding
I read this as a grown man and burst into tears on getting to the last page.A Beutifal, tragic, but optimistic exploration of the darker side of life. Just an excellent book.

A touching picture book on grieving
Terribly sad but beautiful and gentle book about the sadness and emptiness of grieving a son. Hard to say for what age it would be suited, it depends on the child sensitivity. I would suggest reading before deciding if sharing with them
