Jericho: Season 2 [DVD]

Hopefully the TV producers of this series will have found some satisfaction in the viewing figures for this 2nd season and DVD sales of both seasons to justify their U-turn of making a final season; I for one would not have bought both seasons if there was no resolution to the story, unlike my error in purchasing  Alcatraz - The Complete Series [DVD] [2012 ] which left me high and dry as there was no conclusion to the 1st season.This 2nd season runs for only a third of the length of season 1 but at least there is some closure with 2 endings available to watch on the dvd set.The pace of the story is faster as you would expect with much crammed into the 7 episodes (there are also bonus features on disc 2 including details of the online battle by the fans to pressurize the tv producers).I sigh with relief as there was some satisfaction watching this final season but who knows there may (one day) be a further series: there is a book  Jericho Season 3 TP  which I have not researched yet.

I loved the first season of Jericho, you must see that before this.To give you a lowdown, America has had some of it's major cities nuked and the story is about one town in an uneffected area coping with low supplies and being cut off from the world.There's more to it than that lol but I don't want to spoil it.The first season ended on a cliffhanger, and when it was said that the show had been canned it was really upsetting. This has great casting, a great setting and brilliantly written.I was really happy to see that this second season came out. It at least wraps it all up from the first season and gives you an ending that ends it and one that could carry it on.This is only 7 episodes long, but what a 7 they are.Some of the character's are absent but not many, I think thats probably to do with the "will it won't it" continue or not.If you have seen the first you must own this one, if you have seen neither grab both it's a really good show, and a disappointment that it might not continue.

I'm not normally one for reviewing things - most people have already said what I would write. However, with Jericho that has completely gone out of the window. I would say that I am quite a seasoned US TV series viewer, having "done" Lost, 24, Prison Break, Oz etc etc etc......... but I can honestly say that Jericho beats all of them.Season 1 was fantastic, Season 2 is just as good. The only downside for me is that when watching season 2, you know you only have a few more episodes left before the end....and you DONT want that to happen!If you are sat reading this review, thinking "all these people are crazy, they seriously went to the effort of taking on CBS to get a second series of a TV show?" all I can say, is buy the first series, watch it, then at the end of the first series try to imagine that being it, no more, nothing, zilch - I can almost garentee you will be aching for more. Even with the show now over, EVERYONE wants a third series (although personally I dont think they will make one), all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.Possibly the best TV show to come out of the US in the last decade. Utterly brilliant!

**SPOILERS**Jericho only last 2 seasons, but my gosh - what a great 2 season they were. Its a post-apocalyptic style drama set in a small Kansas town, called Jericho. After a nuclear explosion wipes out numerous major US cities, the citizens of Jericho are left to fend for themselves and try and rebuild a new America. After season one's astonishing finale fans petitioned and managed to get another series of Jericho renewed! The second season manages to wrap up season ones main mysteries, however initiating a few more, just so you have something's to think about when the show comes to an end.Even though this series is not as good as the first one, its still a top notch programme! The writing is incredibly imaginative, and the actors each deliver truly gripping performances. Season 2 of Jericho comes with an alternate ending, which would have been aired had the series been issued a third year - However, even though the third season did not air on television, it has been released in the form of a series of small graphic novels which you can also purchase off amazon!Jericho is a great journey and is packed it panache, mystery, suspense and a whole lot of action; buy it, now!

After viewing the first season of Jericho, I couldn't wait to see the second one, the atmosphere is a bit different, it's more like a who is the good one and who is the bad one thematic but I really enjoyed watching it. Now there are 2 alternative endings... if we refer to the official ending, well, there will be no follow up to this very good series but when you see the other one, then be sure to be ready to seat in your sofa and watch new thrilling adventures. There are rumours that a movie will be filmed about Jericho, that's very exciting!

If you enjoyed season one of jericho then you have to see this. I didn't think for a moment that it could ever be as good as season one, but it blew me away. It might be better than season one, but it is at least as good, I watched all of season two on sunday and just could not stop until I found out how it finished. The Cast is brilliant the story is too. As a bonus you have an alternate unaired ending which is equally as good as the frist. The special features are very enjoyable too. All in all it is 334 minutes of spellbinding television. Buy Buy Buy.
