Easy to install and works as advertised. I tested the breakaway switch after connecting this and I could not move the trailer as the brakes were full on. As for battery life, we will see.

It also comes with a new disconnect pull-away cable that is not the old conventional ones that are too long and get stepped on or worn through from the road wear. It is a squiggly thing that always stays out of the way.

This trailer brake controller work. Great, I checked the level indicator every time I connected my trailer. I use my trailer every day for work but I disconnect it at night because I leave it at my business and I take my truck home. The other day, when the temperature was extremely cold about -10F. out, nothing happened when I push the test button, so I hooked up the truck Pulled forward. The trailer rolled fine. I pulled the breakaway and tried to drive forward and it did not apply the brakes on the trailer. I brought the trailer inside the shop to work on it and see why. As it was inside warming up I was checking for power And checking the wires to the brakes, etc. all of the sudden I have some power, not the full 12v but about 7 volts. I found out that lithium-ion batteries do not work when it is very cold and they lose their capacity, well, this happened to me so as much as I like this breakaway battery, it’s just not good up here in Alaska so back to the good old gel, battery set up….EDIT: my brother was planning to buy a new 6x12 trailer that was not equipped with brakes. The local trailer factory agreed to install a brake system and use this breakaway battery, he live in North Carolina so no issues with super cold. The manufacturer installed everything and tested. All functions were working and battery was charging via vehicle and sun!! He took trailer home and parked it. I bought battery November 6 and installed it immediately. Used it for 2 weeks and determined the lithium battery would not work in the cold Alaska climate. I removed and kept in a warm garage. On my recent trip for Christmas, I gave battery to my brother the end of December. It was installed in February and now March it is no longer functioning. Not even a year this is no longer good. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!!

simple plug and play design. was able to have it installed and wired up in around 10 minutes. I'm hopeful the solar charger will easily maintain the battery. Will update after it's 1st winter here in the mountain west with sub zero temps.

The installation for this trailer break kit was pretty easy. I’m not a pro, but I managed to get it working up very fast. Mounted on the top of the tongue. Used my own stainless steel bolts to install. Wired into the junction box and the breakaway switch. Hopefully I will never need to use it, but I will be covered if I do. Highly recommend product and seller.

The Battery backup with solar charger should be a good unit, haven't had a chance to install the unit yet, complete with wiring to the breakaway switch, compact unit.

Good fit well constructed quality part

purchased Aug 2024, i lasted the winter but that was all it is dead now no charge, i assume a Canadian winter had its way with it. good idea to keep battery charged but just too low of quality. wire was also crazy stiff in winter almost unusable.

Seems to charge fine but looses its charge very fast, would look into a different product next time I am in the market for a breakaway system.
