Dungeon in a bag
Fun! Slightly different spin on a dungeon crawler. Quick play, lots of fun.

Plays better as expansion
This "can be" played by itself... im not disputing that. This game has a lot more strong monsters, more devastating tiles, traps, and obstacles than BOD. It also has strong items, causing it to make RNG have an exaggerated effect on a precarious situation. If you dont get a good item quick or you draw a stong monster on your litteral 1st tile, you will probably lose. That's fine, that's fun. But if you use BOD2 in correlation with BOD you will see it is truly an expansion that "can be" but shouldn't be played on its own. This game is amazing! Very well imagined, and executed. Printed on sturdy thick cardstock and punched with precision accuracy, these pieces look great. The wooden dice, not so much. Cheap and a couple aren't stamped in the center. They work, but I use different d6's. I HAVE A COUPLE ISSUES... the rules could have been expressed better by adding only a few more pages, expanding on explanations. Luckily some people on YouTube, including the game designer have made videos trying to show how to play. The problem is that even these videos have some mistakes in them, such as forgetting that rolling doubles is a critical role for an adventurer. Even the videos I saw with the creator didn't cover things such as how ranged attacks are intended to occur. I purchased both bod and bod2 . Both rule booklets are at times ambiguous. I surprisingly enjoy and hate this because it then lays the rule interpretation at the feet of the players. Literally reading the rule in a certain way or not paying mind to just one single word can drastically change the understanding of the rule. After a fun, but seemingly "off" playthrough I decided I would try to figure out what went wrong. Now I can say that with proper understanding of the rules and setup, it is one the most fun and entertaining board games in a very large collection!

Love it!
If you love board games, if you love D&D (Dungeons & Dragons), you will love this game. I've played it several times now, with my grown, D&D loving kids. We all really enjoyed it. This 2nd version of the game is much more complicated, AND interesting to play that the original Bag of Dungeon. I love the larger selection of character cards in this game. I love that you can put it together with the first game, so expand it to epic levels (we have yet to do that yet, but we plan on it soon). The rules are a little complex, but the make sense, and if you are already familiar with how D&D works, it will be much easier to pick up. Just keep the guide handy and appoint one player as the Dungeon Master to check the rules and make sure that the game is being played correctly, or to clear up anything that is unclear to anyone. I really enjoy this game. I highly recommend it.

Just buy it
Bought this for my son who wanted to try an RPG game. I did research and landed on this one. I was not wrong in my choice. It is a great game, so simple to learn without being too simple. It takes very little to get into it. It doesnt require a college degree to play and all you need is around an hour and half to play. All 3 of my kids are into as am I. Great opportunity for me to spend time with them. We also got the second version of this series and it is alot of fun too. It was worth my money and I look forward to a 3rd installment. Hats of to the crew at Gunpowder Studios for concocting this one.

The Rulebook Leaves Something to be Desired.
I like the concept of this game and how it plays. It allows me to play a light tile-laying dungeon crawler in a short amount of time relatively speaking. It is quick and easy to set up and put away. As others have commented, I found that the rulebook for this game leaves out necessary gameplay explanations. Watching videos of how to play the game by the designers of the game didn't clear matters up for me either. For example, I'm not clear about the ring and how you take it from another player. There are set up instructions that are clearly shown in the creator's videos that did not make it into to the rulebook. I don't like that more robust explanations of how gameplay works are not provided. That is why the game doesn't rate a 5. This is definitely a game where there are just come areas where you are going to wonder if you are playing the game right and just accept that you are- "house rules, rule the table."

Fun, but bad luck can be brutal and cause loss of interest.
Bought both the original and 2 together, but started playing 2 at first. Let’s just say the first play through luck was against me. Part of it was just bad luck the other is slight flaws in game design. Bad luck was with the rolls; bad choices to run in to melee playing the wizard(which is a slightly flawed design character); but also with the monster draws the deck is slightly stacked against players. Perhaps the monsters were designed to more force players to team up against them, but overall there are a greater number of difficult monsters (2 Dice+ in attack) than not difficult. Also most of the not difficult monsters don’t have the hit point threshold to award a treasure upon defeating. Being a cooperative board game you can fudge the dice rolls if you really want, but needing to cheat to have any chance of winning isn’t really that fun either. The game designers should really consider slight modifications to the game to favor players, but still give a slight chance of failure.Quick Ideas that had are:Increase the ratio of weaker enemies, and set treasure thresholds lower.Give players an advantage on the dice with them getting D8’s OR giving monsters D4’sThe game is great, but if you’re also trying to make it a family friendly game you should definitely adopt some house rules to make it less likely you’ll have kids rage quitting and never wanting to play again.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!
This is one of my favorite games to come out, in years. The ease of game play and the intricacies of the characters, game modes, mechanics, all make the game so enjoyable for beginners to old school dungeon warriors. Cheers to Gunpowder Studios for making an incredible game!!!!

A great game and amazing expansion!
Bag of Dungeon 2 as a standalone game is great, and just like Bag of Dungeon 1 it has an easy setup and is quick to pickup and learn, meaning you’d be able to unpack the game, and begin playing right on the spot! Bag of Dungeon 2 offers a cooperative and solo experience that are both equally as fun and challenging as each other! It’s has a small box, which means it’s very portable and easy to move around, but don’t let the small box get to you, since just like Bag of Dungeon 1, Bag of Dungeon 2 as a game takes up my whole desktop. Each new game you play will be different from the last, because each tile is randomly generated, the pace at which you complete each dungeon varies towards what challenges you’re faced with and how you approach them, depending on what gear you use to your advantage, and where you find yourself using it. You will be able to build strategies but the game is so unpredictable you could play it for hours and still be surprised. Each character card has their strengths and weaknesses, and work well together. The whole game works brilliantly together, and that’s before you start to play Bag of Dungeon 1 with Bag of Dungeon 2’s built in seamless transitions through rules and tiles. 100% worth my time and moneyAnd I hope this review helps in any way!!Thank you for your time.

Fun game, good company
Had a good time playing this game, it starts off slowly but by the end it really feels like you're in a boss battle. It's easy to understand, the rules are clear with immersive artwork and an interesting story.Originally I was missing a piece, but the company were quick to respond to my communication and did their best to replace it. (Thanks Tim!)In short, it's a really fun game in a compact box, from a UK company, so pretty great. Looking forward to getting the first game and the expansions soon!

Was fun ,easy and exciting
I've got too many board games, many of a similar theme (RPG dungeons and monsters)Some can be too complex and time consuming, BOD2 scores points due to being quick to set up and play, rules are easy enough to understand, the artwork is endearing and sets the scene.Quality wise it's nicely presented and the velvet bags are lovely. My wife and I completed it on first go although she had a few lucky critical hits , it was well balanced and fast paced. I like it as a short fun accessable game, easy to show others. It's not aiming to compete with Gloomhaven or Andor (both also great) but if you favour ease and speed this is a great choice

Brilliant game
I'd done a little research on small dungeon crawler board games and this one kept cropping up with good reviews so I went ahead and purchased. And I was not disappointed. My wife and I have had tremendous fun playing this game and the small size of the box is contrary to the level of enjoyment that can be had playing it. Well worth the money especially if coupled with the second game. Well worth the money.
