Smart Solar 24350M01 Terracotta Effect Resin Pitcher Cascade Solar-On-Demand

Well, I have to be honest and say I was sceptical at first; my experience of anything solar powered is pretty miserable. But, hope springs eternal and based largely on reviews (and being on sale!) bought it. Very pleased I did. Very easy to set up and looks really smart. Made sure it was set up sunny spot next to the greenhouse and switched it "on". It happily bubbled away all day long ( just like in the photo). You have two settings, one which allows you to run it off the battery and another which allows the battery to charge, so you can then switch to the battery later in evening when sun in not so good and still have that great noise. Very calming and a lovely background tinkle in the garden. One note; water can go green over time, so I tend to run a very dilute solution of bleach through it when it gets a bit of algae in there. My one quibble (if quibble, I must), is that I feel the base could be heavier. It is balanced, but it doesn't take too much to tip it over. I have stored it over a couple of winters in the garage (I take the motor out and keep in a plastic bag in a drawer) with no problems. Quickly charges up in the sunshine and runs like new! Happy monkey.

Look great, adds an attractive feature with little effort. A well made, solid and attractive water feature. Not too difficult to assemble and has worked well so far. I will be putting it away for winter (Nov-Mar) as I don't want to risk the pump etc being damaged if it freezes.

A really good product. Easy to assemble and get working. Great to look and listen to. However, my wife put some small glass pebbles in each of the containers to stop me going for wee every 10 minutes!!

Bought this item as a gift for an elderly friend last year. She used it last summer, then packed it away for the winter. When we re-assembled it two weeks ago the solar panel no longer works. I sent a message to the suppier, but so far no response. Not happy.

I always think that a garden without a water feature is lacking something. It's the sound of running water that makes a garden so special, along with birdsong. This Pitcher Cascade sounds lovely and the solar panel can recharge the battery. The instructions that came with it are a bit confusing. In the section where it's telling us how to assemble the pitcher, it tells us how to disassemble it first! Anyhow, it doesn't take Einstein to figure it out and the leaflet makes it sound far more complicated than it actually is. The little black plastic thingy that comes in a plastic bag on its own is simply to pop onto the top of the fountain if you wish. The rest of the guide seems ok. I do like the look of the pitcher and it relatively lightweight because it's made of resin. The top of the pitcher is separate, placed on top of the water retaining bowl which is the bottom half. The first thing to do is to fill the bowl with water. Unfortunately, the top simply rests on the bottom, it doesn't lock onto it, (though, if you look, there are guides on the edges of the two parts of the pitcher itself as to alignment). So while I was faffing around trying to level the pitcher and get the water to flow correctly from the top into the little side bowls, I knocked the whole thing over spilling water onto my feet. Note to self and others: do not assemble pitcher while wearing slippers.

I love the look of this and it compliments my small courtyard very well. Sadly whilst its in use for more than a short period it leaks around where the 2 pieces join together when its been running a while and therefore stops because there is no water left in it. Had discarded packaging etc because when it first arrived there was virtually no sunshine or suitable weather to be outside for any length of time, although I had been able to test that it worked okay, which it did for the short periods I was able to try it. Too late to return...no packaging??

I have only just received this today. So easy to assemble and started to work immediately despite it being over cast and raining. Maybe the battery comes with a little charge? Anyway, I love the look of this and it makes a lovely sound. Just what I was looking for and well worth the money if you want a warer feature thats not electric.

Easy to assemble. Works immediately it's switched on. Looks good on patio. Have placed a few stones in cups and urn to soften noise of water trickling through. Good customer service when different order arrived as our order arrived following day.

das Produkt ist sehr instabil , schon beim Zusammenbau. Es ist kaum zu benutzen, weil das Wasser ständig weg ist.Grund: die seitlichen Töpfen stehen schlecht übereinander und vor allem läuft das Wasser nach hinten herunter und fällt nicht in den darunter liegenden Topf, d.h. die Nasen an den kleinen Töpfen sind schlecht gearbeitet. Auf Rückgabe des Artikels verzichte ich, weil es einfach zu umständlich ist und lt- Internet auch kein Austausch- produkt vorhanden ist. Ein Preisnachlaß waäre vielleicht angebracht.
