Expensive but a great bit of kit.

Bought to replace an older QNAP & the difference in performance is like WOWEEEEEE!Worth every penny

Use a Raspberry PI
Why would you get this when you can achieve the same results with a Rapsberry Pi for about a quarter of the price

Excellent hardware features, poor software
The hardware capabilities are impressive, but the software is still very poor, requires a loooooot of work to become truly reliable.Account and user credentials management is a nightmare.Integration with the MyQnap account is a rubbish at best.Cannot expose any service online or your NAS becomes immediate target of brute-force attacks.As long as you use it on your local network ONLY it does the job, if you plan to use it though the internet, it is far far from being mature and reliable.
