Works great on Sony a7r II
I just bought a Sony ar II body that I'm outfitting for landscape, super macro, nature, and Astrophotography. For the most part, I like to photograph tiny things, insects in motion, lighting, and now, Astrophotography. A lot of this is niche photography.Lighting, insects, and Astrophotography, are battery eaters. On average, I take ~2000 photos to capture one single "keeper" lighting photo. Insects and birds like hummingbirds, are roughly the same ratio as lighting. Astrophotography generally takes stacking of dozens of exposures, and/or the bulb setting that can last a few minutes for each exposure. In the past, it wasn't unusual to go through 4-5 batteries to capture a lighting strike.I tested the pseudobattery in 3 ways:1. I used a USB to AC adapter2. Directly to a DC power brick3. Plugged directly into the USB on the wall AC outlet. The converter runs the camera smoothly no matter the power source. The cord is nice and long. I can store the pseudobattery in the camera, where I always remove a live battery. I use this system in 2 cameras, the Sony a7r II and my Panasonic lumix fz2500.

A Must-Have for Streaming and Video Creation
I bought my Sony a6000 specifically for live streaming and recording video in my studio, and I can't imagine the headache of having to constantly keep having to switch batteries, and always keep a spare battery charged or else risk having it die on me in the middle of a good take. That's why this dummy battery is so important for my workflow. Just set it and forget it, and it's good to go! Works great, and it has a decent length USB cable. Very happy I got this!

Good Dummy Battery.
This product performs as advertised. I am using it on a a6300 and it fits the battery comartment well. I was initially concerned about the cord not being offset to the side to align with the opening in the compartment door, but that concern went away when I first saw its actual design. The cord is attached to the rear of the dummy battery with channels on each side that allow the cord to lay to either side and come out in various positions to match the exit port of the paticular camera. Good design. I am using it on a gimbal and the cord is not too heavy or stiff, though could be better if the initial portion extending from the dummy were a ribbon cable. This does also reduce the over heating problem with the a6300.

Plastic build quality but does the job for Sony a6000, a6300, a6500
Works great for my Sony a6500, a6300, and a6000. Although, to be honest, I’m not sure why the prices are so high on these things.Pros:-Does the job-Comes with Velcro cable tie (I know this is small... but you don’t how convenient it is to just velcro your cables to a tripod when you’re moving around, otherwise you’re tripping on cables all the time, makes clean up a breeze and I like to be able to wrap my cables for storage)Cons:-Build quality is not that great; cheap plastic and is hollow on the inside. No complaints though since it works fine.-Plastic dongle bangs around all the time when I move it around since it drags on the floor... it’s actually a pain in the neck and you have to make sure you don’t step on the thing and break it.-I’ve never had any real issue with this, but when I plug it into the wall with a 2 amp out or above, I’ve noticed that my camera battery level starts decreasing after awhile... which is weird because it’s plugged into the wall... I just find that bothersome when I go through a whole day of shooting and it’s sitting at 75%... not sure if this has any damage on Sony’s electronics.Notes:-I wish it came with a wall plug with the correct amps. This requires at least 2 amps output to drive the Sony. You might need to buy a separate wall plug adapter to meet the requirements.-Your computer won’t charge this... and only specific battery banks with 2 amp output will drive this. It’s within the instructions, so definitely get the appropriate batteries.

works perfect for my a6000
had to buy a dummy battery for my a6000 so i can stream, also video chatting since all the other webcams are over hundreds of dollars... i spent less on this and a capture card than a webcam.works like it should, and does well for run&gun situations for filming. i used a 10k mAh battery and it ran for hours with no problems.does get a little warm as well as the camera but it doesn't make the camera work hard or anything.

It works!
I have a sony a6500 that I use mostly for video. Those tiny np-fw50 batteries barely lat 1 hr. With an Anker 10,000 USB battery with a 2.4 A output this gadget is working great. Now don't use an AC USB adapter. I had an aftermarket battery AC battery adapter it is fried a Canon camera circuit. AC fluctuates in power a battery is constant power. So always use a battery. I don't know how long the combination above can last, but I did a real world test for 2 hrs while recording a Vlog and the power bank did not go down not even one mark. It is clunky and big, but for using your mirror less with an external recorder to shoot uninterrupted long videos its a great solution.

Works great. It's all about the power bank.
This external battery DOES work great for my Sony A7ii. Battery shows 82% on camera while my power bank is 100% full. Should be a safety concern not pushing to the 100% battery voltage. One of my cheap, bad quality power bank is not powerful enough to drive it. SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HIGH QUALITY 5V 2A POWER BANK BEFORE BUYING THIS (as seller stated too). 5V 1A power bank won't work.
