Rudimental Grand Tour: Drumming Across 22 International Traditions

There are often hints around the drumming community about Swiss rudiments or the origin of certain rudiment names, and so-called ancient drumming… but little concrete information on what those things actually are. It’s mentioned but rarely explained am not examples are given. You’re just supposed to nod and say oh yes, Swiss of course. Like you know. This book is amazing because now I know! I have actual concrete examples in my hand for the previously mysterious Swiss drumming a bunch of other things too. My guess is that this is esoteric for lots of drummers but if you like rudiments, history, and obscure facts about old stuff this is a great purchase.

For every one that eather is a pro and wants to see some different sides of drummig or a beginner that wants to see some other pices to learn or is thinking about diving into some of the covered drumming style, this book is a must.It is necessery to have some basic understanding of the classic rudiments to get into how the other style are different. I really enjoyed reading it and I will try some songs that are presented in there.
