Two stars only for client service that responds. The product battery isn't charging any of my devices: iphone, kindle, simple power bank normally. At least i didn't manage even holding it under the bright sunshine.

Works O.K. in Direct sunlight, sometimes has enough to charge when placed on a window-sil. Performance quickly drops off when conditions become overcast. Best results when charging an iPhone are to hook it up and change to Airplane mode then leave the phone alone for a few hours.

I'm currently in Iraq with brilliant sunshine and it can barely charge anything.

I am using it just to provide a minimal recharge during the day to a usb device and also with a cloudy weather it's still able to provide a very low charge current which has an effect during several hours.

Firstly, if you want a really detailed explanation of how this device works this is the wrong review for you, there is a really detailed review provided for the 8W device and this one is effectively the same just with more solar panels and the option to output 2.1 and 2.5 Amps.As mentioned in that review this 16W version is enough to give you a charge to a phone on a medium bright day in the UK, as you'll be aware the sunnier the day the more power you'll get so this should suffice for a phone on a reasonable day and an iPad on a bright one, keeping them running whilst you work/ play or filling them up if they aren't being used.The big test here and one which is on a lot of peoples minds is will it keep my phone from dying whilst I play Pokémon Go, you'll be aware that this game is extremely power hungry, eating fully charged batteries in under an hour on most modern phones. The good news is that the Kingsolar 16W will let you play indefinitely. I tested this on a nice day in the park next to a couple of Pokestops and a Pokegym and it allowed me to sit playing for hours and still walk away with a pretty much full battery at the end, where normally I'd be left charge-less and uncontactable.In itself the unit is well built and study, the panels are encased on a really rugged ripstop nylon folding case and I suspect you could get away with leaving this outside in a brief light shower but I wouldn't advise it. Aside from some printed warnings to keep your phone etc out of direct sunlight and the Kingsolar logo on the front the unit is pretty plain. There are loops to hang the unit off your tent or even attach it to a backpack if you are hiking for on the go power, there are enough of these that with some string or bungee and a bot of thought it isn't going to flap around and although you might look a bit like Squirtle you aren't going to run out of power on the move.The only other thing of note is the rather snazzy little voltage controller which contains the USB ports, one is 2.1A and the other 2.5A so you can choose which is the best for your phone/ tablet and once you are charging the O in solar on the logo lights up blue to tell you that there is power.That's it, it works, it changes your phone (ideally in direct sun light) and you can play Pokémon Go all day.I go this as a review unit at a reduced price in return for an honest review, would I buy one at full RRP? If I needed it yes, it certainly does the job. Do I have time to lounge around in the park playing Pokémon Go? Do I go hiking and need constant power? No and No but if I did this is something that would be essential.
