I put the disc on ceiling and magnetic disc on fire alarm then left for 24 hours before attaching the magnet & fire alarm to ceiling disc. This allowed the adhesive to bond, so they now been up over a year.I think the 1 star reviews where the fire alarms & discs etc fell down, possibly didn't leave to bond and just attached everything together giving no time to allow glue to bond.To me it made sense to leave both adhesive discs to bond...one on ceiling & one on fire alarm before adding the weight and gravity into the mix. Once properly bonded the weight of fire alarm made no difference so no fall down.Hope this helps others avoid the 1 star reviewers accidents.

We bought 4 smoke alarms that came with stickers & screws, asked workman to fit with screws.....he assures us stickers are plenty strong. 3 of 4 fell down across the next 20 mins to 2 days.I ordered these stickers and fitted myself, stickers to the ceiling and smoke alarms, but allowed a week adhesion before putting up the smoke alarms. Worked perfectly!!

I am hopeless at DIY and is a source of insecurity for me when getting to know a girl friend. I have a drill and can just about use it but fear the ramifications of drilling through a pipe or electricity wire in an old house. I therefore enthusiastically bought a couple of these for larger and heavier than average smoke detectors. A month later and the three heavy detectors are still secure on the ceiling. I suppose I could have a piece of ceiling paint that will come away when I one day take them down but I figure I will always have smoke detectors and there is no reason to move them around so I am happy with this option. The magnetic pull is very strong and I would be surprised if there are many smoke detectors out there heavier than the one model I am using. They have 10 year batteries and include voice alerts and a carbon monoxide detector. They are not your £15 single battery that needs replacing every year model. So I would be surprised if the mounts failed to keep just about every smoke detector on the market attached to the ceiling.

Makes putting up smoke alarms very simple and hassle free. The adhesive is strong and so are the magnets that hold them together.
