I have installed / upgraded 14 car stereo systems in my life. My most recent one was for my niece (who is like my little sister) on her birthday. I replaced the factory stereo in her 2009 Chevy Impala, with a newer and more powerful touchscreen stereo. I included pictures of the "old push button" and "newer touchscreen" stereos that I changed, along with this review. I have done a lot of stereo installs in my life, but this is the first time I have ever installed a backup camera in a car. So, I had no idea what was involved in the process. All I knew is that my entire family cares about my "newly driving" niece, and we all want her to be as safe as possible, which included adding a backup camera to her first car. Now, there are a whole bunch of different cameras to choose from. But, to make anlong story short... I chose this camera because of a few specifications listed, that I did not see with any other camera. And, I chose THE CORRECT ONE! This is a GREAT camera. The install was extremely simple. The length of the camera cable is super long, so it should fit any car easily. The picture (of the area behind the car) is super crisp and clear. The camera guidelines are accurate and can be adjusted within seconds (or removed altogether). My niece chose to keep the guidelines. Look no further. If you want a high quality backup camera that is easy to install and operate... i recommend this one. The pictures that the seller has listed for the product are true to life. The picture is actually that good - both in the daytime and at night. And, the LED lights make the already great picture resolution, even better. I was extremely surprised and happy about the quality of this backup camera, and I am sure that you will be too. Chad

Great price and everything was included to make installation easy. Running the wires through the vehicle was the worst part which is not the fault of the product. Clear picture and good field of view. I used it with an aftermarket stereo and it hasn’t skipped a beat.

My initial first impression of this backup camera is VERY GOOD. I have tested 4 different backup cameras and this is the BEST one so far. I got this to use with my Generic Carplay/ Android head unit so I didn't get their specific display. PROS *License Plate Mount: This camera already comes with a license plate mount, so you don't need to buy one. It's convenient and can fit behind your license plate if you don't have a frame or you have a skinny frame. *True wide angle view: I can point the camera down to see the ground directly behind the care and also see down the street. *Automatic LED Lights: This has LED lights that sense when it's dark out and automatically come on. It's only 4 of them, but they are sufficient for night time use. *Customizable View: You can cut one wire to remove the guidelines and you can cut the other to flip the view to use as a front cam. *Comes with T-Tap Connectors: This allows you to tap into the brake light for power *Build Quality: The build quality seems very good and the included mount is easily adjustable and the angle doesn't change once you set it. *Robust Wiring: The wires that come with it seems thicker and better quality that what came with the stereo. CONS: *Size: The camera itself is BULKY so you can say goodbye to any thoughts of discreet installation. People will definitely see that you have this cameras installed even if you hide the mount behind the license plate. *Mount arm is short: While this is sufficient to mount behind the license plate, I was not able to do this due to my thicker license plate mount Power Wire: The power wire that came with the camera has a thick black sheath around the smaller red and black wires. this may be good if you can tap into the reverse trigger from a fuse in the car but if you want to connect both the positive for the power and the trigger wire that is on the yellow RCA cable, this makes it hard. I ended up just using the existing wiring for the previous cameras that I was testing. You could remove the sheath if you really needed to, but it's just extra work. Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who's stereo didn't come with a backup camera or as an upgrade to the camera that came with your "cheaper" stereo. Good back up camera at a great price

I've purchased multiple cheap backup cameras and I would judging the clarity and dynamic range of this one to be the best. I am not using the built in guidelines because my head unit has adjustable lines. Adjustability is good. The camera itself has a pivot built in and it swings from flat horizontal to approximately 45 degrees down. Color rendition is pretty good. It tends towards overexposure but only a small amount. This works to your advantage if backing up into an unlit area at night, which is my parking situation. The onboard leds work well to provide additional lighting for the sensor. Unfortunately, there is not a separate power lead for the leds. I am using a Kenwood DMX957XR and have a the camera powered by switched 12v power that is hot with the ignition. The camera has a photo sensors to detect day and night. The way I have it configured means that when it's dark enough for them camera to enable the leds, they'll be on any time the ignition is on. I will likely resolve this by powering the camera from my reverse lights. I prefer not.to do things because I will lose you that ability to view the camera at anytime with my head unit's camera button. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase and will be keeping this camera for a while. I would rate this 4.5 stars if amazon allowed half star increments.

Very clear image. Simple non complicated installation. Great purchase for the price. Very pleased with purchase. After a month camera broke from prong holding it.

So far this works great. I bought this to replace one I ordered from another seller that didn't work at all. I already had wiring in place so I just mounted it, plugged it in. Picture is clear. I haven't used it at night yet to see how the led lights work. Very happy with purchase and would recommend this camera.
