The filter keeps coming off whenever I run the vent due to the vibration, does any one have a solution to keep the filter in place?

I found it very difficult to snap the filter in place in the first place. Once you do though it seems quite secure. If it's fully seated and snapped in.

Do i need these filters if i am installing the hood with duct work?

No, the filters are only used if unit is used as a recirculating fan. If you duct an exhaust vent you do not need the filters.

Will this filter work for cosmo qs75 30-in under-cabinet range hood 900-cfm?? the cfk5 (they suggest) is out of stock.

Which side should the filter be facing downwards?

Thank you for your question. In the middle of the filter on one side, you will see three slots where the notches on the range hood will slide and lock into. That should be pointed upwards, and the felt-like side should be facing downwards. I hope this helps!
