Basement and Main Stair Remodel
Edit 13 Oct 24: Liked it so much I did my other staircase as well. I've wanted to redo my basement stairs for a very long time. As my basement is finished, the builder grade carpet just wasn't cutting it for me anymore. I looked at many brands, many types of material and always compared price based upon what you get. I decided to buy a singular tread/riser to see what this was actually like. It is more rigid than I expected (good) and I let my dogs ad kid jump on it to see the damage level. I was surprised to see no damage. Color looked uniform and gave a decent enough appearance of wood grain. I decided to buy 12 more and begin my project. I started with cutting off the bullnoses of the existing steps, which I didn't have to do, but if I hadn't I would have had to rip all risers by about 1/8" to get them to fit under them. Hind sight, I would have just ripped the risers. I used a tool measuring device to get almost perfect angles and the used a high end glue brand to attach the risers. All cuts, fits and glue down took about 3 hours. The treads were a bit more in depth. I had to cut the angles (slight) and then decided I didn't like how far the nose stuck out now that there were non of the previously existing noses underneath them. So I decided to rip about an inch off (the same length as the previous noses) and this is where I wish the manufacturer would provide instructions. Ripping w/ a table saw is not an exact science. Different products react differentially depending upon blade type, depth and material. I did a test piece (had one extra tread) and found that the blade chipped off some of the top coat of the tread. Not good. The next test cut I lowered the blade to just above the tread depth, wrapped the area to cut w/ a layer of masking tape (front AND back) and cut it. That worked perfectly! Installing the treads was a bit tricky and I had to make minor adjustment cuts on the sides. No big deal, but remember to "measure twice and cut once" but always err on the side of caution. Used PL Premium 3x to glue down the treads and left weights on them all night long. The treads took the better part of 6 hours, start to finish. I love the way they turned out. Good: -Seem durable. Time will tell. - Easy to work with. - Look great. - Novice can do this. Need: - Right tools. I used a table saw, mitre saw, and stair measuring tool. The mitre saw will save you time and headache. The table saw is nice to have to rip the product to your preferred size, and I needed an excuse to buy one. The stair jig will give you precise angles where you won't see gaps. Gaps are not good. Bad: - Lack of installation instructions to include how to cut and what tools/methods to use. I was lucky I had an extra tread. Almost took a star off for this. Bottom line: I like how it turned out and am considering doing my other flight of steps to the second level. Will update if things go bad.

These are amazing and look awesome
These are amazing. Couldn’t love them more. Had a custom staircase into a hidden closet and cut these to fit. I even built in a few step drawers and was able to integrate these into being the drawer fronts. They look very high end. I first ordered one color and it was lighter than I thought, I returned it and got the next darkest shade and it was perfect. Love the squared off edge as well. My contractor and I installed them and it was so easy. We had to make some cuts on the lip to get the depth right, but it was very simple.

Great Product; Zero instructions
Ok…you want these steps but just can figure out how to install them. I am not surprised, as the company does little to answer questions like how?, how hard?, and what prep work is required online? They are quick to offer customer service but no option to learn in a modern online way. It’s a shame given the product is actually quite good. They are literally a real, thorough install video from boosting sales. The skill level is high. You’ll need a table saw to strip and a miter saw to cut. You’ll need glue (liquid nails). You most likely will not need to cut your existing steps but probably will need wood to reduce the amount the nose sticks out from the riser.

Ordered one ....came fast
Pleased....realistic and sturdy. Ordered remainder same day as received. No to find planks that match...now waiting for a sample that looks similar. Names of colors of same brand planks(for landing) don't match treads. Hopeful it will be a match. Would give a five star if I knew floor planks would match for sure!!! If not...will have to get creative for landing!!! Texture made treads look realistic! Solid.... Rich color. UPDATE: Click together matching floor planks were restocked with a big box store competitor and now the landing and stairs are complete….now deserves a 5 rating. Beautiful cellar stairs and landing. Not cheap but the value is 5 stars or more. More than pleased!
