Yema Quemada (Crème Brûlée) Turrón by Vicens

On a recent trip we to Barcelona, we picked up a sampler from a boutique shop dedicated to this product line. I was so impressed with the Yema Quemada (Crème Brûlée) Turrón by Vicens that I order about 6 full bars to give as gifts around the holiday. I kept one for myself. I find it is rich but not too sweet and is satisfying in small 1/4 by 3/8" squares as servings. Delicious!

Delicious. Hard to find in the US.

I’ve had the pleasure to taste the Vicens’ turrones several years ago; sadly, it cannot be bought in the USA. Needless to say, they are the best turrones to date I’ve had. I recently came back from Barcelona and bought several bars of the 500G for about 13 Euros. The markup un price is excessive! Still is my favorite turrón and I might deal with the overprice once I finish the ones I brought back from Barcelona:)!

We returned from Barcelona just last night, bringing with us six Vicens torrons in various flavors. (We watched them being made at one of their many shops.) They are delicious! But Amazon has exactly doubled the price; they cost 7-9 Euros in Barcelona.

This is my favorite turron. However I must say the price markup is excessive. I bought it in Barcelona for about twelve euros.
