Brilliant!
I have purchased two of these and I think this is one of the best products I have come across in ages and well worth the money. If you are on a water meter it is definitely worth thinking about getting one.I bought the first one for my partner after he caught a local window cleaner (not one he uses) in his garden helping himself to water for his round! Some months later I bought one for myself when my neighbour was due to have building work done that involved the fence between our gardens coming down. The taplock does exactly what it says on ‘the tin’ and is very easy to use. Simply insert the ‘key’, screw the taplock on to your tap until tight and then remove the key. The taplock then spins round and won’t come off until the key is reinserted. The lock comes with two keys in case one is mislaid. My outside tap does drip slightly, nothing that is worth the call out charge for a plumber. The taplock has stopped the drip and it cost less than the call out charge for a plumber. Recommended!

Peace of mind for an excellent price.
We recently had an outdoor tap fitted to the front of the house (as that's where the kitchen is), and we were slightly worried with tampering. We've disguised the tap, but this device adds extra peace of mind, it's easy to fit, just screw it on with the key inserted (depending on the type of faucet you may have to unscrew the end of the tap, but you might have done that to add the hose-pipe attachment), tighten and remove the key. The TapLock then spins around freely, locked in place. Compared to mounting a lock-box on the wall this is great value for money and is probably more effective.

Great idea but.......
Sadly I have to support the other person who gave this one star. I bought this for our church having had a water meter fitted. The idea is great but the practicality is that sometimes it unlocked and sometimes it did not. This resulted in people giving up and taking water in bottles. Saved us money on water usage but for the wrong reasons. The problem may be that the tap is only used once a week and steel fittings and brass taps have a reaction. Anyway the lock has gradually become a total lock. I would also point out that whilst it does stop a flow of water if the tap is turned full on, it does not stop leakage around the fitting and for an infrequently used tap the water loss could be considerable. I was lucky as I did not have to lie under the tap and drill it to remove it but simply removed the whole tap. Have now bought a lockable cover for the new tap.

once screwed into place and locked there is a pressure ...
once screwed into place and locked there is a pressure build up that causes a small amount of water to drip out the top where you turn water off. product itself works well, having two keys also comes in handy.

Recommended.. glad I bought it!
Brilliant item! We have a static caravan on a holiday park, which came with a handy outside tap. Some of the parks services such as the jet washers, and carpet cleaners took it upon themselves to use the tap for their equipment without asking, for the pre-season clean up. Often leaving mess all over our paving slabs. The chancers won't be doing it again! The Taplock is a great item.. I was a little unsure as it seemed expensive, but it has a quality weight and feel to it, and is so easy to use. It's ideal if you're an occasional user of the tap as it requires unlocking and locking again with each use.. but it only takes a few seconds to do.You put the magnetic key into the Taplock and attach it to the tap via the scewthread. Once secured in place, pull the key out and the tap is now locked and the Taplock just spins around if anyone tries to remove it. To take it off, you just insert the key again, and unscrew. You get two keys and the Taplock in the blister pack. The lock and keys have a number printed on them. Make a note of those numbers should you loose the keys.

Ok at first but became a problem
I bought this tap lock in Dec. 2017. Clever device and easy to use and fit. However, I tried removing it recently and the lock wouldn't come off the tap. Having read some negative reviews, I even bought thermal protection bag to protect it from freezing and corroding. I sprayed with WD40 and after some time it came off the tap.Maybe it needs to be removed regularly, but it is a concern.

Fanstastic
Caught my nextdoor neighbour using my tap, informed him I'm on a meter please ask next time. Then my other nextdoor neighbour had gardeners in and I was watching them and one of them pole vaulted my fence and started using my water for HIS garden!! Water theft basically! Bought this product (The one that goes over where the water spouts out) and I only wish I had of bought this 2 years ago when I moved in. It is so simple but so effective. Put the key in, screw it on, take the key out! Now nobody will be robbing my water!! Great product.
