Great bit of kit.
Purchased this to replace an old heavy mains supply saw. The difference is amazing! I feel more in control of the saw and the accuracy of cuts is excellent. I also feel much more confident not having to worry about a mains lead possibly being caught by the blade. I bought this without battery as I already have other devices and an adequate supply of batteries to keep me going for my DIY use. Overall a great purchase and a good price.

Excellent! Don’t hesitate.
Clearly this is not a “professional” tool, but having said that I’ve been most impressed. It cut through hard and soft woods with ease (up to 50mm thick); the cut is clean; the saw is well balanced and not too noisy; and it doesn’t rip through the battery (I use a 6A h battery). My only gripe, and it’s only slight, is that it doesn’t come with a dust bag - but I’m not going to dock it of a star just for this.

Loses oomph if the timber is wet. Cut dry!
I bought this to add to other Bosch units and utilise all my batteries. Luckily I bought this during the Bosch offer and they sent me a new 3ah battery free. Nice touch! I cut 60 x 3.6m and 8 x 4.8m 22mm decking boards with this new saw. Some people comment on straightness of cut or alignment. I had no issues. There is a clear v or mark on the leading edge between the red plastic guide. The v doesn’t move. It’s the constant and I used this for alignment easily. No out of line cuts. The saw rips well and managed some very narrow rips/trimmed edges. The power was adequate and the saw didn’t struggle to cut dry wood. It did slow and nearly stop on wetter sections. My corded saw did the same to a lesser degree. This saw worked much better than I expected at this price point. It’s a good amateur saw, a back-up trade saw or trade light use saw for tight spaces? If you let the blade do the work and control the speed (your push) I doubt you’ll have any problems. The cutting depths are accurate in terms of published spec. I cut out old joists and cut hundreds of off cuts when I was finishing off. As for battery life, well it depends on what you use. I preferred the 2.5ah battery over the 1.5ah. I’ve just received the 3ah it’s double the size and weight of the standard battery but not too heavy to handle. I was getting 20-30 mins on lowest capacity battery and nearer 40 on larger. Constant cutting and trimming. One on the charger one on the saw. The batteries charge quickly. I have two Bosch charges not sure about their spec. But had no issues of no charge no cutting. This saw cuts fence boards and rips them cleanly. I’ve only replaced a few but the saw was up for the job. Blade feels sharp after all of the above use. I guess I could file it to sharpen it but for the price and to reduce any risk of splitting I’ll just order a new one when necessary. Not sure how much??

My first battery saw
I needed a circular saw for a number of projects and as I already had a Bosch drill that took the same batteries, and I had two batteries, I eventually decided to purchase this after reading many reviews. Honestly, it was a genuinely hard decision as I was initially sceptical of the battery thing, but swayed by how well the drill has lasting on a charge.I needn't have worried. The quality of the cut and the ease of using the tool over long cut runs without worrying about cables has really impressed me. I've not seen any of the little issues that others have reported. I'm also impressed with the guide rail. it tightens easily and genuinely runs smoothly, which is more than I can say for my old circular saw.As a final note, Bosch do an extended warranty if the device is registered within four weeks of purchase. All in all, I'm rather pleased.

Better than expected! Fast but precise cuts and a workout/ DIY 2 in 1!
When I walk into a tool shop I get just as excited as when I walk into a shoe store! Therefore, as sole owner of three big toolboxes, and two tools/supplies work benches -I owe more tools than I have time to enjoy…However, whilst I’ve used various mini handheld circular saws, jigsaws, and my Dremel… This big boy is a whole new breed! 😅So you get an idea, I’m 5’4” and weigh under 50kg -so I’m only little! So… why did I buy this beast that’s giving me a workout whilst doing my diy?Well, in short -I needed to “cut apart” a terrible high sleeper that I purchased on Amazon.I say terrible, because the “high sleeper attempt” would not stop wobbling despite adding 6 extra support bars to its structure. Thus, as a last attempt to make it sturdy, I used welding paste on all fixings. Sadly, it didn’t work but there was no unscrewing “the thing” apart to get rid of it! 🙈😭The high sleeper had 5cm posts and had literally “sent me crazy” for months, so I wanted to enjoy its “recycling” process. At first when the box arrived I thought… “jeez this is big!” and as I picked it up, I remember thinking “wow! It’s heavy!”Yet… it’s my first time using a full-sized circular saw and I love it! 🥰Just in case it helps…Pros ✅💎 I bought a good quality diamond disc and the saw cut through wood and metal as if these were butter!⬆️⬇️➡️⬅️ The high sleeper was “awkward” to cut here and there due to the space I needed to actually use the saw. Nevertheless, I was able to cut in all directions with ease! 💪🏼🎯The guide is extremely useful as it effortlessly allowed me to follow a straight line -I’ve managed to make clean and straight 2m+ cuts on different types of wood without tracks.Similarly, I’ve managed to cut small 3/4 mm- sized slices of wood to avoid extra sanding (I wasn’t so lucky when choosing my sander 😩).Such precision, with such a big machine, considering this is my first full-sized circular saw is… unbelievable and amazing!I’ve always loved my Bosch tools -but now even more! 💚🏎️ I’m a single working parent of four -hence, I deeply believe that time is money. Thanks to this beauty, the dangerous double-sized high sleeper that loved “dancing” to the “wobble wobble” song, forcing me to discover and love tatamis… was down and out of my room in less than 15 minutes! And that’s counting the time it took me to take the wood outside! 🤩🔋🪫 Battery life is decent and considering Bosch sent me a free large battery (useful promo when spending more than £99 on Bosch 18v-for-all in one products in a single transaction… even better!🫨 The saw does not vibrate “too much” if not at all -which greatly aids to obtain its clean straight cuts!Cons 🛑👈I’m not going to lie. At first I absolutely hated having to press the security button every time to get it to work!I guess in part because it was a little bit of a challenge to do so with my extra small hands and short fingers. However, after 4 days of DIY at home… this security feature saved me from losing a few fingers 🙏🏼 -so I take my initial thoughts back! 😅🏋️It’s a little heavy… although, it’s the first full-sized one I’ve held… so, its weight and size could be just fine. 🙈All that I can say is that I’m athletic, do quite a bit of exercise and yet my right arm felt “well-worked” after a few hours of first-time-use.Yes! Once I began cutting the bunk… I could not put it down and made a new pantry shelving system with the wood (I love recycling! 😂).Nevertheless, by day four my kids looked at me and said… “how can you move it so easily mum? It looks heavy!” 🤣🧹The vacuum adapter didn’t work too well with my pneumatic -the vacuum I use for all my DIY cleaning. Most of the time, it kept falling off! 😩And when it didn’t… I felt “followed”, pushed, and yanked here and there! 🙈Additionally, it restricted my movements and therefore ability to make clean cuts.-Hence, I found myself kind of wishing it would fall off! 😂 (Not a great idea when I had to clean afterwards!😭).However, this could be due to the pneumatic’s relatively short hose and could be “ok” with others!Either way, I recommend you buy the Bosch dust collector for it (I bought it on Amazon) -it makes life so much easier and keeps the cordless circular saw… cordless! 😂📏The guide that comes with the saw is… small!Yes! Too short for my liking at only 15 cm in length! 🙈 I remember looking at the saw and guide side by side and thinking “sizing is off!” 😂Hence, whilst Bosch must have thought “this way, customers will buy the 30cm guide or our tracks available separately”.Come on Bosch -size matters! 😂 and your saw is so easy to use it doesn’t even need a guide/track. I would only use them for convenience more than anything else. Conclusion 🔚If someone who’s never used a full-sized circular saw can do so much with this Bosch whilst enjoying its process… This is without a doubt an awesome circular saw and one of my best tool purchases I’ve ever made! Thanks Amazon for the great offer 💷!Lastly, I just wish Bosch made a copy of this one in “reduced size” for quicker/smaller tasks! That’s how much I’ve loved it! -Now I want it in different sizes! 😂Therefore, if you’re doubting and comparing it with similar ones in the market… Don’t!Buy it! You will NOT regret it!Great piece of kit with an awesome price tag! 10/10!
