best bang for buck
great little survival kit. definitely worth the money if finding items individually - works great for throwing in a day hiker or truck bag for a little extra security and peace of mind when traveling away in the wilderness.

Probably the best store-bought, ready built kit available.
Almost, if not all, ready-built kits are missing items. This kit is no exception. This kit seems to be missing the shelter component I need.I added a "space blanket" to my kit. It was a relatively inexpensive addition. I added a mini "bic lighter" since I like redundancy for what I consider critical needs. Not much in cost but sometimes the simple saves time and effort. As part of a larger bag, this kit adds much versatility and provides items, when combined with knowledge, gives the opportuniy to survive. This kit contains many quality items, not cheap knockoffs. If you are forced by circumstance to utilize this kit...the term "value for money" is more than just a term. Having a good kit is a concern, and part of the problem. I believe this kit takes care of that aspect in a superior manner.Knowledge of how to use this kit is crucial to personal survival. For me, this is part of a larger bag/system. The lighter the bag, the more likely you are to carry that bag. I live in a desert, so the fishing kit seems be something of a lower priority, as far as my personal needs go. I am more likely to need water so the items for water procurement have a much greater importance to me. Having the capability to forage and procure water seems way more important to me. I intend to carry potable water so the weight of this kit is something I consider. Given that the majority of the weight I carry comes from water, having water means that it is something I do not have to concern myself with as soon. The weight/benefit ratio is really good with this kit. That being said, I recommend training and intense familiarization with the kit components before the need for this kit happens.
