Q: What’s the difference between this and the oil treatment? Seems like one is just a spray and one is a serum.

I have not used the oil treatment, but this spray is a great quick fix to remove frizz and add shine and works well on dry ends. My daughter has done other oil treatments and they've made her hair greasy and actually caused dandruff. This is a fine mist and I have not had any issues.

Q: Does it weight hair down?

I don't feel like it weighs down, it more a light, dry hold. I tend to use a gel or paste for a stronger hold (more weight on the hair). I hope that helps.
