Great item easy to set up and install.
Good product, easy to install and interreacts with existing chimes. After missing parcels and the such we decided on getting one of these. it was easy enough to install and I was pleased to find out the existing powered door bell was able to supply this unit. not only that but the new unit can also operate the existing door chime. with the app, the nigh vision is good, recording is also good, for enhanced features you may need a subscription. connectivity is via wifi but that was also easy to connect via the APP. All in all I am pleased with the choice and would be happy to recommend the unit to others.

Excellent option, easy install
Very easy to assemble with battery and battery lasts a good couple of months before needing a charge at new. Good camera images and voice options. Very pleased so far.

Absolutly brilliant, once you have screwed it in place!
To be fair, I am absolutly made up with this and what can do. Clear video of any caller, two way communication and video captures as alerts. But, fixing it with an angled mount was difficult. The screws that come with this are long with small cross heads. I persevered using grease, drilling small guide holes, and after a short while got them in to attatch the angled mount on my wooden door frame. In retrospect I should have gone to my garage and dug out shorter screws with bigger cross heads that would have done. But, the end result is absolutly great, and really it is. As well as convenience you get security as well. The electronic setup is very professional and satisfying. Very pleased indeed.

Finally, I know exactly which neighbors keep stealing my Amazon parcels.
This Ring doorbell is a total game-changer. The 1536p HD video is crystal clear—you can practically count the hairs on the postman’s moustache—and the head-to-toe view means I actually see the whole person (and the package at their feet). No more mystery “parcel left somewhere” hunts. Installation was laughably easy. Five minutes, one screwdriver, and a mild sense of accomplishment later, it was up and running. The quick-release battery pack is brilliant too—pop it out, charge it, pop it back in. No wrestling with wires, no cursing at confusing manuals. Motion alerts are fast and accurate, and the two-way talk is perfect for scaring off delivery people about to yeet my parcels over the gate. Plus, it looks sleek on the wall—like my house suddenly levelled up to “smart home” status. If you want peace of mind, crystal-clear video, and the joy of knowing exactly who rang your bell (and when), this is worth every penny.

Doorbell
Really good as soon as I found out how to turn the person detector off. I seem to have a revolving front door, with different kids coming in and out. And the alert was annoying, but the feed is good, good quality.

Good - My review of the entire range and why I settled on the PLUS model.
It's easy to provide a 5 star review when the product is all you know. But I have had the pleasure to use all the battery Ring Doorbells, including this one's predecessor. So I thought I would take the time to go through the reason why I settled on the current "Plus" model instead of sticking with this, the cheaper option. I owned the Bronze colour version original bottom of the range Doorbell (not the 2024/Plus/Pro models), but it was swapped out by Ring due to the bronze-style finish corroding, like many have reported. What I cannot say is if the new versions are any better, but more of that later. The older version did not have head to toe vision, but I can say it either had better resolution, or the lens was better quality as the picture quality was much better than this one is. Ring Battery Video Doorbell (2024 release) Receiving this as the replacement for my corroded Bronze predecessor to this model was a disappointment. As the heading says, it's just adequate. It does have head-to-toe vision, done mainly to be able to view parcels left by the door. However, it fails in this as the doorbell cannot see the bottom of the door in most cases. Perhaps if you are able to mount the doorbell on the door itself it might, but most people will not want, or be able to, do that. But this head-to-toe thing gives you a peephole image, something that is not explained in the blurb. Imagine a rounded off square image (a square image with the corners missing) and you've basically got it. Plus other get this head-to-toe thing, the image is so distorted it becomes comical. Other negatives: - You have to remove the entire doorbell to charge it. - Charging from almost flat takes nearly a day......a day without your doorbell. - Removing to charge is fraught with the possibility of dropping the doorbell with the consequential damage. - Faceplates are not interchangeable. If you do drop and damage the faceplate, it's there for good. - You cannot charge with one of Ring's Solar Panels, only the Solar Panel Mount specifically for this model which only works if your door is south facing. - It's has the lowest resolution of all the Ring Doorbells - It has the fewest features. - No idea if Ring have solved the corrosion issue surrounding the Bronze models, but mine lasted less than a year, and I coated it with car wax to try to help it along. I asked for a Satin Nickel model to replace it so I didn't have other go through the whole replacement thing again. This model (Ring Battery Video Doorbell PLUS) The Plus variant brings a plethora of features missing from the basic model: - Replaceable, removable rechargeable battery, the same as the cameras use. - Due to the above, no need to remove the entire doorbell to charge, just buy a second battery and you have 24/7 365 coverage. - Replaceable, removable and interchangeable faceplates. - Higher and noticeably better image resolution (1536 vs 1440) - Faceplate is plastic, unlike the cheaper option which is metal. Sounds counter-intuitive but plastic doesn't corrode. - Has switchable HDR video. Ring Battery Video Doorbell PRO The Pro version adds (to the Plus model): - 3D Motion Detection with Bird’s Eye Zones and Bird’s Eye View, - Colour Pre-Roll - Audio+ In my opinion, none of the above are of any use except possibly Pre-Roll. This shows a couple of seconds of motion prior to the actual event (at a lower resolution and frame rate). I found this useful only to see the wildlife that set off the notification. It was useful to see which of my cats was roaming out the front of the house, but cannot think of another use worth the extra money. The 3D motion and so-on has limited value and Audio+ may or may not have an advantage, I noticed no difference with the quantity of wind noise and clarity of speech to any of the lesser two models myself. The Pro model has the same resolution as the Plus. So there you have it. All models rated in a real-world scenario and without the marketing fluff. It is my opinion that the Plus model is the best option and best value for money, it appears to have all the useful features but without the largely pointless features that cost another £50 of the Pro. It's sensible for me to mention the doorbells only work with a subscription. You can dump the subscription, but you can only view live footage without. So if something happens, and it's in the past, you cannot see it. Secondly, Ring state up to 180 days storage for subscription footage and 14 days snapshots. This is true to a point, but Ring set it at 60 days and 7 days by default (only to save server space) and they don't give you the option to increase it to maximum. There is around seven or eight hoops to jump through to find where you increase it, but you must do it as Ring cannot recover footage beyond 60 days if you "forget" to change the settings to 180 days. It's sneaky, and it's not obvious. You need a good internet connection with good upload speed. Ring pushes all footage through their servers, so before you've seen it, it's been uploaded to their servers and back down to your phone. Finally, if you can, wait for a Prime Day to buy any of the doorbells, they're anything up to half the price on these days. I hope the above assists in your choosing the right doorbell for your needs.
