Libéron Beeswax with Pure Turpentine Antique Pine 150ml

Did what it says on the can. I would buy it again.

We had an additional handrail installed so that we had one on the right and one on the left going upstairs. The new rail was 'raw' pain from B&Q. I bought this beeswax from Amazon because rather than being clear beeswax it had a colour - Antique Pine in order to match as near as possible the existing handrail. So far I have applied it according to the instructions (three times) but think I will try to use a thicker application next time. That said it is an old fashioned product to give an old fashioned result and I am more that happy the result. Be prepared to use some old fashioned elbow grease to get that old fashioned look! Four stars only because I do not know what it will look like five years down the line.

Mine came from amazon with a hole punched in the lid, I had a second tin ,that also had a hole in the same place! Contacted the maker and got this reply. "You are not alone with your question - it's a commonly asked question. The holes are placed to allow heat evaporation during shipment. The wax is poured into the tins while hot so of the lid didn't have the hole in, the lids would pop off. " It might be a good idea to put a sticker on the tin! So worry not your tin of wax is quite normal!

Applied this onto a new bedside table, and it applies well looks good and dried well. Only issue if any is it looks a bit light in colour even after 3 coats. So if your want it richer order a darker colour. Good coverag3 and finish though. By the way this pin whole in the tin lid is supposed to be there.

It is a very very light polish it doesn't add much colour whatsoever.

Rewaxing a table. Easy to use although a bit smelly

I did not received this in exchange for my review. I paid for it myself with my own money. I must say I was quite disappointed with this product. The fault may be mine, as I am not an expert in waxing furniture, but this wax did not produce the colour I expected at all. I have some waxed antique pine furniture already in my home, and I purchased some untreated wood shelves which I hoped to match. The antique pine colour of this wax makes the new shelves much darker and a completely different tone to my existing furniture. It really makes the new shelves look dirty. I'm glad I only tried a test patch and didn't put it over the whole thing.

A bit of a shock when I got ready to use and found the wax so dark. I expected it to be clear as stated in the description. I’ll need to get something else for my project and of course it’s not returnable. Thx Amazon. I’m updating my review, giving five stars , b/c while I was initially disappointed with the color being dark, I have used it for other things and found it to be terrific. It fixed surface scratches on my honey pine tables and darker pine bookcase and mantle. Yesterday I tried it on Grandma’s cherry Drexel china cabinet that was terribly sun faded after 30 years by the window. Incredible results! Btw, this beeswax is better, I think, than the Liberon black bison wax. Covers better, easier to buff.
