I have quite a few manicure tools in my DIY nail arsenal, but not one like this. I thought maybe giving a try couldnt hurt. And it didnt. I cant say it's my absolute favorite, since most of my gel polish just comes right off with a good twist of the wrap I have around each finger with the infamous cotton/acetone/tinfoil method. But I will say that for the stubborn nail you have to re-wrap then get that bit of extra base coat that often DIYrs then dont get...then to get up around that cuticle area to ensure all trace of old product is removed it worked great. You just use a light hand and it lifts that soaked product away. The tool is in no way sharp, its lightweight, and even though I am right handed...I dont see why a lefty would have trouble using the tool.So while I personally make my products do most of the work for me (and to reduce scraping of top layer of my nails) I try to keep these tools to a minimum, and I do have another tool that I have been using for years that I maybe like a bit better, this one is handy to have in your box of nail tricks (in my opinion) since you can not only get close up to cuticle area easily if need, but remove any residue left behind that you dont want to gently hand file away.

I read what I thought to be quite a few reviews and all said this was a "must have" but I don't think anybody explained that this is no regular "cuticle pusher" nor "cuticle cutter," which is weird because while I do use it for that, too, that is not NEARLY what I use it for most! This is literally the ONLY reason I can do my own gel nails! You can soak all you want, but no cotton pad alive will EVER touch taking the polish off- no, you HAVE to have this to scrape the soaked polish to get it off. This tool is the most valuable thing I have, I literally could NOT do my own gel nails without this!If you're just setting out doing your own gel nails, trust me on this one, you MUST have this. Believe me now or believe me later (80s reference), you WILL need this to get the polish off!! Go ahead, take your time. Do your first gel manicure without it, see if you can get the polish off after soaking. Go ahead, try it! It doesn't work, does it? Did you file off the top coat before soaking? Yeah? Still nothing? With all the wiping and scraping with pure Acetone, still nothing? Huh. Weird. Wishing you had a perfect tool for scraping? THIS IS IT.

A nail tech advised this tool was ideal for removing gel polish after soaking but the sharpness was important and this did not disappoint. Easy to use and performed perfectly

…be sure not to press too hard when trying to remove the gel nail polish. If you press down too hard it will scrape off your nail as well

I tried this product without reading any instructions or anything just to see how easy it really is to figure out and use and I'm a fan. If you're rough you can still remove a very very thin top layer of nail but for the most part I had zero issues using this. It was a little effort to get my polish off and it isn't great for the corners where my nail meets my skin but it's otherwise still a great product. I keep it by my desk because I'm a horrible nail polish picker and it helps to clean off the miscellaneous nail polish bits that I don't end up tearing off myself. Haven't managed to injure myself yet so it isn't so sharp you should be worried about injury.

I love this gel polish remover, it is so easy to use and if you've soaked your nails long enough the polish just slides right off with this remover. I found I hardly had to put any pressure to scrap the gel off and there was no damage to my nails. I just bought a 2nd one for a friend.
