I presume you can use this without taking the phone’s case / cover off?

yep :) I have found it an absolutely fab piece of equipment. I have a clear see through case for my phone but my impression from the instructions is that it works for all cases. I attached the magnetic disc to the back of my phone rather than the inside of the case just in case I wanted to change my phone case. magnet really strong, keeps the phone fixed in place really well. thinking of getting a couple as Christmas presents because I was so pleased with product. hope this helps
