Perfect replacement at a fraction of the cost of a Viking branded Element
This is a simple replacement for a failed Viking oven element. I was somewhat cautious beforehand but can now say that it is a perfect replacement at a fraction of the cost of a Viking branded element.Unscrew two screws, carefully slide off the wire connections, repeat in reverse and you now have a working oven again.

Blew up in my Range, Flames coming out of it.
This element, used maybe a dozen times after installing it, blew up with a huge flash of light and then had flames coming out of a hole in the back. Installed in October, died in December. DO not advise

Perfect, affordable replacement baking element for Viking electric range.
Great replacement for bottom heating element in oven of Viking electric range, and at an affordable price. Cut off the breakers to your entire range before starting the job. Find a YouTube video on point. Then remove the oven door for ease of access. Take a picture of the old element in place and close-up pictures of how the old heating element attached to the wiring connectors. These connectors are very tight because they carry a lot of electrical power. When you disconnect the old element, the two wires will want to slide back out of sight into the bowels of the fiberglass oven insulation, so I clamped them near the crimps on the connectors with locking surgical hemostat forceps, to keep them from getting lost but small vise-grips with long jaws could work as effectively. When installing the new element position the female wire end coming from the inside of the oven, so that you can see the progress of the male ends of the element sliding into the appropriate female connectors. You will probably need needle nose pliers to accomplish this task. Have a small mirror and a flashlight available, to verify the wires are correctly connected. Match the shape of the mounting plate (where the 2 attaching screws go) on the new element with those on the plate of the old element( you may have to bend part of the thin plate up to get the new one into position, then put in the screws and tighten them. There are ceramic blocks attached to the new element which should be positioned in the same places as the original element, but they can get moved during shipping or unpacking. Don't throw any of these parts away until you have re-set the breakers and tested the heating element for proper installation (i.e. does the oven heat up as usual?). Replace the door before cutting on the new element- it will take 2 people unless you've done this before. It helps to use blocks of wood or tool handles to chock the spring-loaded hinges open into a position where the door can easily slide back into its proper places on both hinges at the same time. As with most new electrical heating elements, when first cut on, a protective layer put on the element at the factory will emit a smell as it is dissipated by the heat of the element. Unless sparks or flames are being emitted, this odor is normal for the first few minutes of operation.

Fit Just Right for our Viking
Replaced my existing burnt out element with this and it worked great.Note: The work of replacing the element is not easy. Search for instructions online because there are pitfalls just because of how Viking designed it. Once we got past the complexities of pulling the oven out, removing the existing element, and recovering the hardware, it went in just fine. None of that is to be confused with the element itself. It fired right up for us in time for Thanksgiving and saved us $100s since we did it ourselves.

Looks and works just like the 'official' Viking element
4 stars for ease of installation. As has been mentioned in a previous review, the spade connectors really want to shrink back into the depths of the oven as soon as you disconnect them. I was able to pull them back out without too much trouble. Apart from that, a very easy DIY repair. Oh, and I didn't find it necessary to remove the oven door.

A good deal compared to Viking original part
It’s been installed and working. At less than half the cost of the new part from Viking, it’s a great deal if it lasts. Time will be the judge of that. BTW the supplier delivered in a few days when others could not.

Arrived on time and was very easy to install!! Saved us from booking an appliance repair which would have cost considerably more 😊
