Inexpensive, functional, reliable remote!
Great remote! After years of suffering with my SHIELD TV 2017 remote, the most unreliable remote I've ever dealt with, I decided to get this one.Build quality is respectable. Nothing to write home about. No backlight. Uses 2xAAA batteries. And the buttons may be a bit stiff. Still, it looks alright and works perfectly. All buttons and voice recognition work. Very reliable, which is what I was looking for!One note about pairing: do what the manual says (hold Select for a few seconds, then enter pairing mode on your SHIELD TV), but don't expect a light to turn on (as it says in the manual) in the remote because there isn't any. After doing so, it will even get an update from NVIDIA, as if it were an official remote. Neat.

Worked for only 2 months before clocking out.
The product is a good affordable replacement for the rip-off first party Shield model. It worked well, until it didn't.After 2 months the remote just suddenly died whilst using it. With no way to get a refund or replacement, I'm very annoyed to say the least. It must be using some truly shoddy components to fail so easily.

Great product.
A fantastic replacement for the standard remote with the stupid slide volume control. Great to use and feels more comfortable in the hand.

Bought to replace the original 2017 Nvidia Shield Remote
Similar to other reviews the 2017 remote was getting tired. For one the old remote would not work with brand new batteries, the compartment stuck in and a battery holding pin had broken off. Faced with replace batteries message but new ones didn't work, the power issue called time and bought this one.Watch the YouTube videos on pairing. The leaflet with the device says pair at one foot range. A lot of fumbling, moved to one foot away and it paired then offered that update and that worked. Combination of the leaflet and YouTube videos. Left the original remote still configured in the setup just in case the need to revert.Handy that the button ring, go back and home are in the same place as the original so easy to get on with it. Then you have the extra buttons. Pause / play which has its uses and the setup button. No going up and over now for the setup screen. Listen to sound only with the TV turned off you just hit pause. Greater functionality with those buttons over the 2017 remote model.Disabled the Netflix button, well remapped the long hold to iPlayer Sound. See Youtube videos on Nvidia Shield button mapping to do this. Saves the Netflix button being hit by accident. You can make long press as the action using the software.Note that after the Android version 11 update several years back, the Nvidia can go off into a thinking session of about one minute. Reported on the Nvidia pages. It does. This has nothing to do with the remote. Nvidia haven't sorted this out but when it happens you wait to get control back. Others people have installed wifi mains switches in to give reboots. I've done that as well for when I get tired of waiting or it does need a genuine reboot. No back lit buttons as the toberlorone like 2019 original remove that this is a copy off... it's suppose to beep on a find my remote search. I haven't tried that.Buttons are a bit clunky after the soft touch 2017 original Nvidia remote. Haven't tried the original 2019 remote, they may have moved to the more hard press type. The 2017 remote was starting to suffer from the well known plastic decay on the ring that soft touch plastics can suffer from. Glasses, Roberts DAB radio etc.Money well spent.

Easy to setup & use with just one gripe
It's served me well for about 7 months, and batteries seem to be lasting well. My only problem with it is that the cursor button (up/down/left/right) appears to stick occasionally on "right" or "down", causing me to scroll way past where I want to be. Maybe I have a friday afternoon unit. It's not worth to hassle to try & swap it, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed the issue!

No light
Paired and works fine.No light though despite instructions saying there is one. Meant to flash when pairing so you know it's working.

Une télécommande "plug and play"

Didn't work
I got it for Nvidia Shiekeubut it didn't work at all. Not like matching with the unit, but there was no power in the remote. I tried with couple of different batteries but no. So it goes back.
