Superior item. Good company.
Additional Update:The replacement flashlight has been holding up very well. Charging easily. Being used frequently. As well, I found the old one. Thankfully I hadn't thrown it out. While the battery on that one still absolutely refuses to charge, it also takes... a AA or AAA. And, it works fairly well with it.So, now, I have two of them going. One isn't rechargeable, but it doesn't burn through batteries like some flashlights do. I have a black and orange one. Sometimes I have both on. Gives me a lot of adjustable, handsfree, light. And they are bright enough for any of my needs. Since they did me a good turn, I... wanted to add another plug.---------I received the first one, but the battery wouldn't charge. I tried to return it, ran into all sorts of trouble. Then just ran out of time. I assumed it was a lost cause, so wrote a review. Unlike some companies, they didn't just scramble to figure out how to remove or hide my review, but instead contacted me. Sent me a new one.The second one works perfectly. After the initial charge, I haven't had to recharge since? Crazy, but... And I have it with me as daily wear, and use it quite often. I don't use it as a headlamp, but clip it to my jacket, and use it like a motorcycle's light, centerline, lower. For taking the trash out, on dark mornings... cooking on my griddle later at night, or when dark. Wonderful.I don't know where the first one got to. Didn't realize it took regular batteries. If I find it, I will try that. Still, this one is very good. I am grateful that they took care of the problem. And, now, I am very thankful for the product. It does exactly what I hoped it would do. Just... another good tool, for my odd, sometimes simple, sometimes messy, needs and wants. Very good item.Original Review -"The "chargeable" battery wouldn't take a charge. Had trouble getting a refund ticket, kept dodging an easy way to get it in, so lost my opportunity. Will never buy anything from amazon with those types of batteries. They really jacked me around on a return. Don't buy this thing. It might work, it very well may not. Then good luck doing a return or exchange." - Upgraded from one to five start.

Decent light and gift.
I got this light on sale for $26. At that price I HIGHLY recommend. It fits in my EDC sheath nicely with zebra pen and multitool. It comes with a type C lithium battery but also accepts AA and will run on a AAA in a pinch. You just have to wrap the AAA with something to keep it from moving around and losing connection. It’s a sturdy little guy and has pretty intuitive controls. It does not seem to be affected by water or drops. I do wish battery life was longer but for the size battery it has, it’s decent duration. I would never pay full price for this light however. ($50+ I think). If I was getting that high in price I would get the similar O-Light that runs on cr123a. (I have one and it is night and day comparatively.) But I wanted something more affordable incase of loss, and that would run on a more standardized and widely found across the globe battery. Solid job AceBeam.

I like it... on NIMH
On the supplied 14500 battery... firefly is about the same output as it is on low... which is too bright. On a NiMH AA firefly is a barely perceptible glow... which is perfect. That's what firefly mode should be, just enough light to locate it at night. on NIMH the output modes are easily spaced, and predictably nowhere close to the lumen ratings. on NIMH/Alkaline high is in my opinion close to 70 lumens. It never gets hot on NIMH even on high mode, and as many said there's no spill, its sort of a "inspection type" of moon beam with a little spill. Other than the high CRI claim nothing else on their claim about the light materialized. Bought this as a Amazon Lightning deal, so $20 wasn't bad.the 14500 battery is nowhere near the 920mah claim either. My sample appeared to be about 300mah,. and discharges by itself just sitting there. I'll charge it to green (4.1V) and it'll read 3.9V under a week... meaning for whatever weird reason the battery lost 40% of its capacity just sitting on my desk. I recycled it after draining it completely down at the local battery store. The tail magnet is reasonably strong and is easily removable.

Excellent EDC flashlight with rechargeable 14500 battery and AA battery capable as a backup battery
I've had the NICRON N7 right angle flashlight but couldn't live with it as an EDC as the power button triggered too easily. This Acebeam requires a double tap to turn on and doesn't seem to get triggered accidentally. I love the long hold press to go to 'moonlight' mode so you don't have to blind yourself if you only need low light. I'm also glad that no flashing mode or SOS mode is included in the cycle of low-med-high during normal use. SOS is available when powered on by a triple click so its not likely you'll accidentally trigger this and get annoyed by useless flashing lights. The clip is bi-directional and could attach to a shirt/coat in a pinch as a chest light. You can also use the included headband but its a bit fiddly to get into quickly. Once in its useful and easily adjustable. This will likely be stored separately and used only if I don't have a regular headlamp available. This could be a good bug out flashlight combo or a car glovebox stash.I love that like the NICRON N7 flashlight I had it uses the 14500 battery which is identical in size as a AA but runs at 3.7v. This enables rechargeability via USB-C and the ability to use a standard AA 1.5v battery as a backup so you'll likely never be without a power source to run this light. The tail magnet is strong enough to stand horizontally on solid metal, although I feel it could be a tad stronger in case you want to attach to thinner metal.Overall this is a solid flashlight which provides great versatility, is inexpensive and is easy to use. I highly recommend as a general use flood light. The brightest setting could light up further distance some but it is not meant for long distance spotlighting.
