A great way to cleanly extend audio
I have a broadcast studio where I needed to feed four channels of audio across the building. Normally that would require fishing up to four cables through the ceiling. This guy saved the day.I plugged one end into an ethernet jack, then jumpered it to another jack at the other end of the building (it's not IP, so DON'T run it through your router!) and boom! Audio where I need it to go!The box is well constructed out of aluminum and feels solid, and the XLR cables are nice and long.I'll definitely be buying more of these!

No-brainer 4-Channel Snake Replacement
Replacing traditional, heavy audio snakes (or multiple long runs of shielded XLR cables) with these "Snake Boxes over Ethercon/Ethernet" is super smart — and these Y.D.F brand boxes are a quality way to do it!The boxes feel solid, have quality connections, and carry the audio perfectly. They are small and light and they travel well — easy to carry along with other audio gear to a remote gig and they'll save plenty of weight and room considering how much cable you'll be able to eliminate with their use — not to mention the ease of running, hiding, and securing one Ethernet cable as opposed to multiple XLRs or a fat and bulky snake.Excellent product!

An efficient way to carry multiple signals on one cable
This is a 4-Channel XLR Snake that is compatible with DMX, AES, analog audio. There are two boxes; each has four cables, 3 feet in length. The cables have 3 pin XLR connectors. There are male XLR connectors on one box, female on the other. An RJ 45 Ethernet cable carries all the signals between the two boxes. Both boxes and all connectors are metal construction. The cables are different colors, clearly numbered 1 thru 4. They are durable with good quality connections at the XLR ends.I tested with DMX data in cable 1 and analog audio in cable 2 and had no issues. Note:Â The system is rated to carry 48V Phantom Power; however, I did not test this. This system is an excellent way to carry multiple signals between two points using one cable. The reasonable cost makes it a great value.

Great for extending audio signals in larger venues.
I used this in medium to large size venues where I have a lot of mics or instruments on stage (think church) and don’t want to buy a ton of long distance XLR cables or cumbersome snakes. The build quality is good. All the ports accept plugs without a fight, hold them secure when they are plugged in and release them easily when needed. I am using this with CAT 8 cable. I don’t have any issues with signal loss or inconsistent signals. I’ve gone to about 100 feet so I cannot speak to distances longer than that. If nothing else, it keeps your area clean and simple and gets rid of the cable rat’s nest I see often. Only using this with audio signals. Next stop, hooking it up to my DMX system for lighting.

Convenient and High-Performance Ethercon Snake Boxes
I recently upgraded my audio setup with the Y.D.F brand Ethercon Snake Boxes, and I must say it's a no-brainer replacement for traditional audio snakes! These boxes are excellent for carrying audio over Ethernet, and the quality is top-notch.The build feels solid, and the connections are of high quality, ensuring seamless audio transmission. They are compact and lightweight, making them perfect for travel to remote gigs. With these boxes, I was able to eliminate a lot of cable clutter, replacing it with a single Ethernet cable, which is a game-changer.As someone new to using Ethernet for audio and DMX signals, I was amazed at how well they performed. I managed to run left and right XLR audio and two DMX universes over a single Ethernet cable without any noticeable noise or lag. The panel mount XLR connectors add to the robustness of the design, and I'm confident they'll hold up well. While these snake boxes might not be suitable for everyone, they are a perfect addition to my XLR/DMX kits, and I'll be using them for both studio work and outdoor performances. They are versatile, durable, and the price-to-quality ratio is excellent. In conclusion, I highly recommend these Ethercon Snake Boxes for anyone looking to simplify their audio setup while maintaining high performance. They have made my audio production more efficient, and I'll definitely be purchasing more for future setups.

It's A Miracle
I have never used ethernet to carry audio or DMX signals before, so using these VDF snake boxes is an eye-opening experience. The electronics behind it are a mysterty to me, but on my first try, I was able to run left and right XLR audio and two universes of DMX over a single ethernet cable, reducing a run of four cables to a single thin cable. I'm using this in a permanent set up in a small theater space, and I'm very happy with its usefulness. At first I was using a different brand that, rather than built in male and female XLR recepticles, had wired tails coming out of the chasis. I thought these tales were a weakpoint, so these YDF snake boxes seem like they'll be far more robust. Of course, on the desk side, you'll need short jumper XLR's, but if one of these goes bad, it's an easy matter to replace it, whereas in the hardwired model that I previously used, you would have to open it up to (hopefully) repair a damaged connection. Make sure you are using Cat6 (not Cat5) cable for the extra shielding. Also, I didn't have any ethercon connectors, so I just used a regular Cat6 networking connector, and it works fine (if I were gigging with these, I would get the ehtercon connector, but for a permanent installation, the regular Cat6 connector is fine). The price to quality ratio for these snake boxes is excellent.

Top quality sound and build plus the color coding is extremely useful
When digging around back behind a dark rack, the color coding of these pigtails is extremely useful. Instantly I can tell things are connected where they should be.There is absolutely no crosstalk between the channels. The connects are well-built and lock tight. The cable is high quality.Really makes a great mini snake for the studio and stage, and also for lighting.Highly recommended.
