Where does the mount fix to?

To use a TomTom fixed mount you need a combination of Car Mount plus the TomTom fixed mount. The best I have found is the Brodit available from Amazon / DSL developments Brodit make clip-on mounts and the fixed mount is then attached to the Brodit mount. The Brodit mounts do not leave holes in your dash or window pillars. Any further info please contact me. I currently have 3 cars with Clip on mounts. 2 fit to the window post near the driver the other clips into the dask board above the ventilation outlets. Sturdy enoight to hold the 6 jnch GO 6200

Is this a Brodit item and if so what is the part number? Is this an active dock or just a holder to fit which models of Tomtom?

this is a fixed powered dock for tom-tom GO 520/5200/620/6200 use the cable for your tom tom or get a fixed Installation kit hooks on the bottom and magnets at the top secure the tom-tom in place

Does it go into 2 parts? I only need the front bit for the power so can i take that off and use it on the original supplied mount ?

It can separate from the ball joint with force.not ideal,it leaves an egg shaped mound on the rear.I use mine with a Brodit fitting that the square back piece screws on to and then clamps on to the dashboard.

Does this fit the 550 rider?

I would probably say NO looking at the back of the mount. I have a TomTom GO50 attached to my Bike. That works a treat. Have a look at the back of your satnav and see if it has the same magnetic connection
