Great sequel to their first book
Great sequel to their first book, "If Ain't Broke, Fix it." Start with the 1st and then digest the second. Gil and Vicki always start with the essentials and then build out, but never get so esoteric that the reader gets overwhelmed. This book is a step up - for intermediate to advanced shooters, but it always comes down to the foundation of mastering and re-mastering the basics. A new shooter will also benefit. The Ashs give you not only their own expertise but also that of other leading instructors and competitors. The only thing keeping me from rating this with 5 stars is that I wanted a few more illustrations and pictures to help bring the words alive visually. (When you view their DVDs and You Tube instructional videos you see how well they can help you see what they're telling you.)

Great Book for taking your game to the next level
Great book for the advanced shooter. I purchased this book a few years ago and keep going back to it from time to time, I would recommend the first book also if you are fairly new to sporting clay shooting. The more I shoot the more I understand the principles and ideas in this book. I started shooting sporting clays in 2015 and with help of Gil’s books along with a few others was able to progress fairly rapidly, Thanks for all you do in advancing the science behind the shot and putting it in a understandable and useful format

Wanting more.
The book was full of good information, but in order for it to make sense and be "complete," you have to purchase and read the first book "If It Ain't Broke, Fix It!" as a foundation. I felt a little cheated and manipulated. At $30 a pop, I don't feel like it was worth my money. It would be better if they offered a paperback edition at half the price. Over all, the book was well written.

Best sporting clays book I continue to RE-read.
This is the book for you if you know the correct answer to all the "technical" questions about gun fit, mount, lead, breakpoint etc. This book is about the MENTAL game of sporting clays; that thing that keeps most of us from successfully connecting that which what we KNOW with that which we DO.There are a lot of gems in this book and it's worth coming back to. Highly recommended for the intermediate to advanced shooter.

Geared to the elite competition shooter
Good book, not for the novice shooter though. Make sure you start off with If it Ain't Broke Fix It. This is really for shooters who are looking to get to an elite level in competition. Vicki and Gil have a unique way of making you feel they are speaking one on one to the reader. They write with humor and insight!

this will improve your shooting
this is by far and away one of the best instructional shooting books on the mental aspect of the sport of shooting, it applies not only to sporting clays but to all the shooting sports that have such a significant mental component, I've been applying the techniques in my shooting since I read it and have noticed a lot of improvement. (and as a buddhist, there is a very zen element to this book which I instantly was able to grasp).

If you suffer from a particular set of problems (mainly over-thinking) like I did
Superb book. It's superb because their approach here is to unpack how you've felt at the shooting ground, tell you why you felt that way, and then tell you how to tackle it with practical strategies. It's a game changer. If you suffer from a particular set of problems (mainly over-thinking) like I did, then this is the book you're after. Big relief, I'd plateau'd at score much lower than after I've read this book.
