RIGHT POCKET DEFECTIVE :(
I purchased this dress to use as part of a Comicon and Halloween costume for this year (it's a surprise so check my SM platforms at LadyBorgia to see exactly what character in October ;), and was hopeful it could also be used as a warm weather dress too. I was super happy that the dress is mostly cotton with just a polyester slip/liner that is just in the skirt and ends above the lace panel so it doesn't show through. I prefer natural fibers whenever possible. It will be worn as a costume in mid October and the end of October in NYC and that time of year is notoriously unpredictable! It could be chilly sweater weather those days or it could still be warm enough to go surfing without even a shorty wetsuit, so I plan on having both thin patterned tights with an extra pair of thicker ones for back up and layering with a corset and a cloak if necessary.OK..THE FIT DETAILSAfter looking at the size chart I decided to order up a a few sizes to fit my actual bust measurements (XXL) and I am SUPER glad that I did! It was there when I got home that day and I opened it right away and hung it up! At first I was a bit worried because the smocking under the bust looked way too wide, but I was hopeful and tried it on.I was THRILLED I ordered up! The bust fit exactly how that style should, not too lose or too tight, but it definitely filled it out as expected. It looked great both on and off the shoulder. Had I ordered even one size down to XL it would have been too small, odd looking and likely at least somewhat tight and uncomfortable. I went by the measurement at the fullest part of my bust and followed the size chart. I'm also a DD/F if that helps, but I think most cup sizes would be fine from smaller to fuller, unless you're getting into special order sizes (still possible though, just make sure it still has free returns).I definitely recommend going by the measurement of the fullest part of your bust for best results for the entire dress! The smocking under the bust that looked way too big on the hanger was hidden by the elasticity of the smocking itself. It definitely has room to go MUCH wider, but because of all the elastic in the smocking, it made it fit to my body without looking loose. I was hoping that it being large in the under bust area would be concealed by the smocking band it absolutely was! Fantastic as the next size down would have been too tight in the bust and looked like a costume. This looks like a cotton chemise. The rest of the dress fit well and ended up looking great minus ONE ISSUE (keep reading). Even though the dress was larger than needed, it didn't look too large because of the cut of the dress. The empire waist is a flattering cut for most body types and this was no different. The tightest part of the dress (smocking under bust) is at the slimest part of the body, and it flares out and gives room to be comfortable without looking too big. It's great to wear on its own or layer! The cut and extra room also made the polyester slip/liner in the top of the skirt roomier and more comfortable! It's short as it only goes waist to above knee so it doesn't show through the lace. I think a smaller size might end up creating it to possibly ride up under the skirt and be annoying. Even if it didn't fully ride up in a smaller size (I read how it did for some) I can see how that would happen due to the construction (I sew :)***THE POCKET ISSUE***I was thrilled this dress has pockets! The left one was fine. The right one was sewn incorrectly and I couldn't fit my medium sized hand in it! I could ONLY fit two or the fingers MAX! That's a BIG ERROR in both sewing and quality assurance as it gives you a clue about the quality of construction of the rest of the dress and possible future issues.I requested a replacement and I really hope I receive a dress that isn't in defective condition as this is exactly what I wanted in looks, fit and comfort. I was even thinking of purchasing a second one. It would be a shame to have to start over from the beginning again. I will update the replacement dress once I receive the replacement. I sure hope it was a a rare error or I won't be buying another or anything else from the brand, and they had some other things I was interested in.Very hopeful! Sad that I received a defective dress, but hopeful the replacement is perfect as everything else was great! 👍 Fingers crossed 🤞 UPDATE SOON!

Fancy Renfaire undergarment.
It's lacy, it's layered, wife loves the fit - but I saw 2 at a small faire last month and both were being worn alone. This is a nice undergarment - you add colorful layers over it. Those two ladies looked like lost brides. :)

Even for short people!
I bought this exclusively to we at the Renaissance Fair. I didn’t want something that was hot or would require hemming. This was perfect. I’m 5’ and 145 lbs. the corset belt didn’t look nice with it but that was a personal preference. The length was at my ankles and having the sleeves on my shoulders kept my freckled shoulders from getting sunburned. The holes in the top lay allowed a lot of airflow. I wore bright underwear and you couldn’t see them. The only problem I found was it fit under my chest odd. I had to keep tugging it down because it would ride up. I’m a 36A so I did t fill out the large the same as others might.

Material
The material is uncomfortable and very fake and costume feeling, not flattering like a dres with proper fabric would be

Perfect Ren Faire dress!
I purchased this dress for my very first Ren Faire, and it was absolutely perfect! I wore a skirt and corset over the top- and because the dress is relatively lightweight, I wasn't overheating! I like the dress so much, I think I may just wear it as an everyday dress! The crochet/lace detail before the end of the dress is absolutely stunning. It runs true to size and is good quality considering it's supposed to be a costume piece. Highly recommend!

very pretty dress, fits as it says
I really like this dress! The colour is lovely (a pretty spring green), the material feels nice and not cheap, and it fits very well, exactly as the size chart says.I am a pear-shaped woman, 5'5" and about 210 lbs, and the XXL fit me very nicely.
