Sony HT-SC40 2.1ch Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer (Renewed)

I was a little skeptical about buying another soundbar. I'm a Sony fan and the last Sony soundbar I bought for my grandma went bad after a few years and it was light used. But that's in the past. This system performs extremely well out the box, bought it refurbished in acceptable condition and still looks like new! I'm pleased with the sound so far; my only tiny complaint is while streaming Hulu or Netflix from the TV to the soundbar via HDMI arc is that there is a slight delay from the soundbar after fast forwarding or rewinding a video it takes about 4 to 6 seconds before the sound comes back and I end up missing a few seconds on a video...But its only one day and maybe the settings can be modified to stop the lag.. Non the less, Bluetooth subwoofer is flawless, and music is flawless. Buy it and enjoy it. Hopefully this one will last for some years. I will update this post if necessary.

The sound is amazing! Deep clear bass with zero distortion

This thing isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, it’s loud enough but the base from the woofer sucks. It cuts in and out often too and I’m using it with a Sony TV using the optical cable.

I was reluctant to buy this Sony sound bar because I previously had one bigger a Sony HT-S400 and I really liked it.I was going to get the same one again.But I ain't want to drop that much on one again.I seen this one refurbished for less than $100.So I give it a chance.The bass isn't as good as my other one but the overall sound is good I'm satisfied with it for the price.I always have like Sony products.Can't go wrong if your using this in a bedroom.

I guess it's OK. Taking that particular price point into consideration, it was never going to reproduce the dynamics of a Bose Home Theatre setup, but I'm wishing I'd spent a little more and gotten a better-quality sound system, like some of the speakers I'd heard at Costco. The bass is nice, the uppers and midrange are better on the TV itself. That said, my setup includes an optical cable which may diminish some of the fidelity I'm getting from the speakers!

Amazing bass and great sound

Lacks bass response, especially considering the enormous size of the subwoofer. Can't get it to work with a Sony remote control which is disappointing, keeping within the sony ecosystem was my reason for purchasing this one but it might as well have been a different brand because it won't play nice with the other Sony equipment I own. (All Bravia series)

I am not completely satisfied with the product. The item did not meet my expectations for a refurbished product. Firstly, it arrived without the original remote control, which is essential for operating the sound bar efficiently. Additionally, it lacked a remote battery, making it impossible to use even if I had acquired a replacement remote. Furthermore, the manual was missing, leaving me without proper guidance on how to set up and utilize the sound bar effectively. Overall, the absence of these essential components significantly detracted from the overall experience and usability of the product. I hope these issues can be addressed to ensure a more satisfactory experience for future customers.
