Good product, easy to use and money well
used this device on a number of materials in different damp states and the results were as expected. started testing my boat hull when it first came out the water and every week since with the moisture content falling as it dries. Good product, easy to use and money well spent

Good value for money
Good value for money giving acceptable results when used correctly. I would recommend it to a friend for non-professional use and for keeping a personal record of moisture for his boat.

Is it really worth it?
If you're surveying a boat, then yes it is a must have - quite literally no other GRP moisture meter will cut it. I give it 3 stars because of two primary reasons - firstly, it is not 1980 anymore and the display simply needs to be updated to a digital readout. It is a dog to gain an accurate reading in a poorly lit bilge while you are checking out the stringers.... In an ideal world, it would be USB connected to a phone app to record the data (yes, I will take royalties for that if you do it ;-) ) Second - the device requires "interpretation" and that is never a good thing - or should I say, an "accurate" thing. It should be far easier to calibrate the meter on say a few given spots on a vessel to normalise the meter against the grp, and then take relative readings from there. I would strongly advice anyone using this meter to watch a youtube video or two, showing how to correctly use and interpret the readings. The fact you have to do this, shows that the user experience just isn't as good as it could be - and for the price you're about to pay, it should be better.

Waste of (a lot of) money and I wouldn't recommend ...
I'm not sure what the intended market is for this product? It's not cheap, therefore you expect this to be a reliable and professional tool. However it is incredibly inaccurate and if the reading are taken at face value it could well lead to a misleading diagnosis. I bought one hoping to help me identify areas of the deck that had some damp/saturated core areas. I panicked because just about everywhere I placed this device, using the GRP setting the needle went to 100 and the alarm went off. I thought the whole deck was compromised! I then got a surveyor to double check, and he used a Sovereign, which was three times the price. We went around the entire deck and compared them. Both showed very similar readings on surface, give or take 10%, however using the at depth setting, whereas the Sovereign might show 40, 50, or 60 on the competitive scale, the Tramex went to 100 or above and sounded the alarm. Based on this it seems to be very misleading. It appears it can't really determine a gradient of moisture, it seems to be all or nothing. Waste of (a lot of) money and I wouldn't recommend it.
