Fantastic
My Rating-5/5This book has been on my TBR ever since itâs release was announced. This book is another masterpiece by one of my favorite authors. Anyone who has ever read the Eddie Flynn series by this author, knows the kind of conman turned lawyer that he is. This book begins with âThe Sandman' who is a serial killer on the run from the police. The police department thinks that his wife âCarrie' has assisted The Sandman aka Daniel Miller in his crimes .As a result, just for being his wife, Carrie is now facing trial.  This book is told from multiple points of view that improves the flow of the book and helps the reader understand an issue from all angles. The author has done an exemplary work in portraying the courtroom atmosphere. The writing style of this book is clear and concise and easy to follow. Despite being an avid reader of the thriller genre, I still could not guess the end of the book and I was gob smacked by it. While writing this book, care has been taken of even minute details like a serial killer always kills itâs victims according to a specific Modus Operandi(MO).Looking forward to reading future works of this author as well.

Not as good as previous work of Cavanagh
Well, I enjoyed this book, up until the end and then it spoiled the whole experience for me.đDaniel Miller is identified as the Sandman killer, who killed 14 people before disappearing. Now his wife Carrie Miller faces a new trial as an accomplice and everyone thinks she is guilty and she aided her husband in the murders. The case lands with Eddie Flynn, and he only takes the case if he believes his client to be dishonest. Now there is a huge task before him - to convince an adamant judge, cynical jury, and the whole world that Carrie is just another victim of the Sandman and the clock is ticking! As with Cavanaghâs previous books, the story is gripping and you just want to know what happens next. The plot was fast-paced and action-packed with creepy undertones. The courtroom scenes are yet again exhilarating and Eddie is his usual cunning self. However, my issue was the climax of this story. It did not sit well with me. I was left confused and wanting for more which never happened with this series before. Further, I missed the âbadassâ side of Eddie. In fact, I missed Eddie - period. I have come to enjoy his attitude, his swagger, and his action both on and off court and I missed it in this book. I observed that with the introduction of new characters in books, Eddie has become less..visible for lack of a better word. I hope we get to see that undaunted, badass Eddie who knows how to fight dirty, real soon.đ¤
