I got this for our then 9 month old (now just over a year old) and she was delighted by the pop up eggs and liked the music but enjoyed it without as well. As she's gotten older, she really started to enjoy learning how to push the eggs back down, still her favorite part of the toy, and recently she's figured out how to manipulate 1 or 2 of the gadgets that make the eggs pop open. So, it works well for both entertainment as well as learning cause and effect, dexterity and strength, and language development since I explain how to use it by repeating words such as "push," "pull,", "open," "close/d," and so on. She has never used the plastic hammer that came with it and has never had an interest in it, but it's a nice extra since some kids may love it and it teaches a different kind of hand-eye coordination and motor skill. I appreciate you can use it with or without sound and the nostalgic kid in me loves that one of the songs is straight out of classic Super Mario brothers game.

My Grandbaby loves this toy. He just turned, one year old, on February 7th.. This was my gift to him. He loves pushing the little eggs down and hearing the music.. He likes the little hammer too; although, he tries to use it on his Daddy's head and cracks up when he succeeds..🤭😁.. Of course we are teaching him that's not what it's for..But he definitely enjoys this toy..
