Great combo staff.
This is actually a really good hiking staff with the option to mount a camera.I hiked a mountain earlier in the week and put it through all types of terrain, including falling a couple time on the descent and catching myself with this with my whole body weight being put on it. Held up great and saved my butt a few times. One thing I haven't seen anyone mention is that the rubber boot comes off and there is a decent carbide tip underneath. In fact i've seen some people say theirs didn't have one...so I don't know.Camera mount works just fine, I use it with a GoPro taking stills or time lapse video when hiking. There could be some improvements in a future edition, but this is a great staff. Especially for the price of $20 cheaper than in stores.

Pretty nice, lightweight 'pod
I actually own an older, heavier, stronger monopod. But for my purpose in traveling, and having a 'pod that would serve as a walking stick as well as a monopod, this seemed a pretty good choice. I have been very happy with this item. Of course, it serves well for a monopod for lighter weight cameras or camcorders (point-and-shoot=yes; camcorder=yes; DSLR with big telephoto lens=no). What was a surprise was it's utility as a walking stick. As long as it's not extended too far, it is really quite strong...and I'm a big guy. This is definitely worth the price.

Sturdy, lightweight monopod/walking stick
I bought the Brunton monopod for use as a walking stick for hiking, and a little added stability for my ultra zoom digital camera. It's very light at 9.5 ounces (approx a half a pound), but still works as a very sturdy walking stick. It collapses to a portable 25.5 inches, and extends to 62.5 inches. Most of the other double duty (monopod and walking stick) poles were about the same length collapsed, but a good 10 inches shorter than the Brunton fully extended which could be a problem for a tall photographer. It has a nice foam rubber handle, and a rubber tip to provide ample traction. No carbide tip, but that wasn't a huge concern for me. With the lower portion partially or fully collapsed and the upper portion fully extended there's little to no flex when applying significant weight (leaning 200+ lbs onto the pole). With the lower leg fully extended the pole flexes some when applying significant weight, but not enough to be a problem in my experience. The weight of a camera would never make this flex, so no worries in that department. Overall I'm very satisfied, and the price on Amazon can't be beat.

Met Expectations
Used significantly across Patagonia ... only as a hiking stick ... never actually used as a monopod for the camera but good to know the option was there.

Great for my 12x50 binoculars!
This is a great mono pod for my binoculars, it is nice because you can adjust the length to where you are sitting or standing. If you have to get an adapter to attach the binoculars, get the JRFOTO. It is sold on Amazon. It is a Pro heavy duty ball head quick release photo ball head. This mono pod does not come with an attachment for binoculars.

Tall enough to be a real monopd, strong enough to be a real walking stick
Excellent combination walking stick and monopod. It is really hard to find a monopod that is tall enough for those of us who are in the 6' and up range. This one goes up to 62" and is still quite study - enough for my pro DSLR. It is also a very serviceable walking stick which I use regularly for just that purpose.

Arrived broken - not a good sign...
The packaging was in perfect condition - but one of the extension fittings (threaded plastic used to tighten the sections) was already cracked when I received it. This is NOT a good indicator of the product's durability. I intend to return it and purchase something that will hopefully be more durable.

Great Monopod
This is a well made functional monopod. It works great as a walking stick and, with addition of a simple ball joint, as a terrific camera monopod. Very sturdy and well made..
