Picnic+ Cutlery Insert Set for No. 8 Folding Pocket Knives, Fork and Spoon Insert, Micro Fiber Napkin, Made in France

I am a long-time Opinel fan, owning several in various woods, along with custom sheaths, etc. My favorite size is No. 8. The knives are well-designed/built and reasonably priced. This cutlery insert accessory is brilliant. It works perfectly on the No. 8 and incorporates the ring-lock mechanism for a sturdy result. Excellent!

Concept works, and will satisfy any Opinel aficionado who carries their No. 8 faithfully everywhere they go, including on camping outings. This kit may prompt you to buy another No. 8 just to have one with the kit, since you bought this version because you already had a No. 8; this way you can make a fork or spoon and still have your knife - or get still one more No. 8 to have all 3 ready to use. Ah, Opinel looking for a way to expand sales to their faithful! Anyway, the kit works, and I put (one of my) No. 8's with it. (I use a No. 10 as my camping food prep and utility knife.)

I must admit that I am a fan of Opinel products, and I have been for a long time. This people are serious about the products they design, and they make them with top-notch materials. In this instance, however, Opinel personnel failed at doing something critical with an otherwise well-made and well-thought-out set of Fork & Spoon: they failed to verify if both utensils can be locked in place by the user. Well... they cannot! The fork as well as the spoon fit very well AS LONG AS you did not allow food residues to accumulate in the area of the knife where the blade swings. Assuming the area is free of such residues, both utensils fit in place like a glove. The trouble begins immediately after when you want to turn the stainless steel ring which has a job: to solidly lock the utensils in place. You may turn the ring hard until you say words you mother told you to never say, but the ring will not respond to your efforts. With a magnifying glass, I discovered the reason: the part of the utensils' body that goes inside the knife is approximate 1/32" too wide, and that tiny excess of metal prevents the stainless steel ring from turning to solidly lock either utensil in place. Whoever has the proper tool can remove that small amount of metal in the blink of an eye. I do not have such tool, therefore, my 'Opinel Picnic+ Cutlery Set' resides without use inside a drawer. Maybe, one day, someone with the proper tool will put a smile on my face.

I have two no. 8 Opinel knives for more convenience in eating some meals. A 3 utensil set gives a more convenient combination, fork/spoon, fork/knife, etc. The cutlery inserts fit tightly and securely. Very compact and with napkin the inserts lock together to make a small package that fits easily in a cookkit or even your shirt pocket. I highly recommend this cutlery insert set. Charles Hardin

Nice for camping, wayyy better than plastic camping utensils. Thus, they are classy too. I take off one point because when the knife turns into fork or spoon the knife can’t be used.

High quality spoon and fork insert for a your Opinel No.8. Good size and weight. Insert locks into your knife handle securely. Only thing you need to consider is that, with this system, you'll only have one handle for three cutlery items.

Very good quality, and handy to have around, I keep the kit in my lunchbox for job site when I forget to pack utensils, it's cheaper to picnic kit but I wasn't aware of it when I bought the no.8 but over its great tool to have and it's a relief to know that I'll always have it on hand

As with all other Opinel products, this is a well thought out spoon and fork attachment. It is a great bit of kit to help in clutter reduction and decrease in amount of just "stuff" when going away from home, yet functional without being spartan. Its finish is clean, smooth and spotless, and the napkin wrapper/holder packages it well with my No. 8 knife. Buyer needs to be sure to understand the pieces attach to a No. 8 knife, which isn't included, but almost everyone has one already.

Quality and price is good cost shipping is a bit high

Super produit, un peut cher mai vraiment pratique pour moi dans le camion. la fourchette et la cuillère tiennent bien en place grâce à la bague . Attention toutefois il faut bien un couteau n°8 , pour ceux qui peuvent se pauser la question , on ne peut pas se servir de la fourchette et du couteau en même temp pour couper une viande .
